I've emailed a few times and never heard back - specifically wanting to know if a disc has a small rental sticker on it, would it be rejected (if its otherwise mint)? Also, would holepunched or "promotional" barcodes be cause for rejection?

Considering that even Amazon doesn't carry The Call of Cthulhu, I would say that Digital Eyes won't either. It's only being sold by 3rd part vendors, including the distributors. Lurker Films doesn't distribute their titles to other stores.

Whats with new Anime dvds on DE. I've noticed that few new ones are coming:( There are several anime dvds I want to preorder but they haven't show up on DE. The Babylon 5 legend of the rangers dvd comes out 3/14/06 and is up but the Gundam Seed Destiny vol 1 which comes out on the same date isn't up. :( Whats up with that? :(

I checked a few of the 6.50 titles in the sale and found that Deep Discount has them for $5.98. They are advertising that price as their "new low price" and that it is part of a price drop that occurs on 3-21. If this is true, then is this really a "sale" as advertised at Digital Eyes or are these titles going to be at the new price permanently? Thanks.

Hi! I have been a customer for Digital Eyes (for almost 2 years), but recently I was inform they no longer will be shipping to me, because they are applying a policy of no-selling to customers who, like myself, have a forwarding address registered. In my opinion, they offer great prices and currently have some interesting promotions (like MGM 2x1), but there was no way I could make them go ahead and apply an exception in my case, taking in account they have shipped several times to said forwarding address in the US, with no problem how so ever for both parties. Anyway, due to said reason, I am looking for a new site where I can buy DVD movies at a similar good price (incluiding US shipping costs) and low risk of being rip off, so I appreciate the advice people can give here, as the finding motors I have used are not providing yet a good solution and I am not sure about using the DDD site, due to many complaints I read everywhere. Please let me add I am right now interested in purchasing Howling 1 and 2 DVD movies. Thanks in advance for the help!

I placed a big order and the majority of items ship put on 3/14 oro 3/21. I picked ship out as they become available, but so far only I got one email for only one item that has been scheduled to ship. When I check order status, it says the same thing that some items are/were scheduled to ship a few days ago but I havent received an email that they were shipped yet. Nothing is backordered or predordered or anything like that, so I'm wondering if I can get these orders in under the wire for double points, or will they only be eligible if I get the confirmation email before the last day?

The site says it will be updated once a week on Thursdays, but I noticed this was not done for my account last Thursday either, for shipments made the previous week. I am also waiting for the update so I can use the credit on a new order.

If we have accounts at Digital Eyes and DVD Planet with identical logins (most online sites use email address as logins these days), when you "transfer" our accounts to DVD Planet on April 1, will you:
(1) Keep the two accounts separate (How, with one login?)

The accounts will be combined into one account. Frequent Buyer Points from DE will be brought into your DVD Planet Account. You will be able to see all your open orders from both site and previous orders from both sites in the single account.

To test it out, I just placed the Planet ol the Apes ape head box in my cart. It defaulted to US Priority Mail/First Class for $2.90, with other options including Media Mail for $0.00. Maybe it was a temporary glitch that's been fixed.

Movielib, I actually just posted a question about that in the thread in the Store Forum. If you start the checkout process, it still has the drop-down box with how many points you can apply - which doesn't give you an exact number but at least gives you an idea (although I'd like to know exactly how many I need for 1000, since I'm over 800).

Logging in to the new site and following instructions to see my wishlist shows only my old dvdplanet wishilist where I only had 3 or 4 titles. The 50 or so titles from the old digitaleyes site seem to have vanished.


Will I have to re-add them or will the old wishlists be fixed?

Mark - I know you are still working the kinks out - but shopping last night was very tiresome. I agree the search is not good by todays standards. My real problem lies in this - I was shopping for used dvds and new, the new ones were going in a dvdplanet shopping cart while the used were going in digitaleyes cart - depending on what I clicked I was on different sites. I know if I was not a loyal customer I would have given up.

Here's one: can anyone find HEROIN BUSTERS on dvdplanet's site? It's the only title I need to complete my pending order...but I'll be damned if I can find it on their site, even though I know it was there a few days ago (prior to payday, grrr) no problems finding BIG RACKET and STREET LAW, but this one seems to have vanished into the gloaming...I tried going through dvdpricesearch and bargainflix, I tried substituting HB's catalog number in the place of BR's...all to no avail. I even emailed Mark!!

EDIT: Strange indeed...I went ahead and called their 1-800 number...the fellow I spoke with was helpful---after hearing me try to explain the situation he looked up the title, and he said that for some reason this title (Heroin Busters) had been removed from their website, even though they have it 'on file' in their database---he was able to find it, but said it's not listed online for some reason---and he has to send a request to 'upper management' to have it added back, so that it can be ordered by the masses...

I don't mind waiting, but this is a bit frustrating. I've had nothing but stellar service from digitaleyes, and they will get my business this time round...especially since I still have a $20 credit I'm wanting to use.

So now my question is basically, "Huh?" That's a brand new release, streeting today, even if it is a bit of a niche title...I can only wonder if they are having more serious problems with their search engine (or whatever) than they expected to encounter. Here's to hoping they are able to work out the kinks before they lose some of their customer base.

I had the same problem. To fix it, I edited my account information to set "US" as the country in my address (before that, the country line was blank). Hope that works for you.

This should actually go in the store forum, as there's a thread there about this over there, but I'll post my experience as well since you may not check that forum.

I sent in about a hundred items in April. Like most of you, I keep my discs in pristine condition, but some of these were bought used, so those had small smudes and such. After about 4 weeks, I had a large amount of credit in my account, but not what the QuoteMachine had stated. The day before yesterday, I got a package with the refused discs back from UPS. They only refused 8 items.

I've gotten to the site in several different ways and on two different computers but the cart will only hold the last item I put in it. I've tried it logged in and logged out. You can use a coupon with the Frequent Buyer credit. The minimum subtotal for the coupon is counted before the FB credit.

Mark, would you please shed some light on what is going on with Media Blasters' titles in relation to your site? I've had the recently released "Zatoichi TV Series: Volume 4" on backorder for a long while now and have been patiently waiting. I just checked your site and it is now listed as no longer available. Shall I call and cancel my order or will it be coming back in-stock. Similarly, I have a backorder for one of the new "Baian the Assassin" titles. This too has been in temporarily-out-of-stock status for a long while. In general, I notice many Media Blasters' titles are at least temporarily out-of-stock. I also see you are listing pre-orders for other titles from the same company (including "Zatoichi TV Series: Volume 5"). I've often pre-ordered their titles from your site but I will not do so this time as I am unclear as to what is going on (which seemingly applies to Media Blasters' titles at DDD as well). Is this all related to Media Blasters' decision not to participate in the recent sale at DDD? I've posed a similar question to DDD and was told the titles would re-appear on their site very soon but after a long while now the titles are still missing.

I've never had anything but great customer service from Digital Eyes or DVDPlanet. I have never returned damaged sets via email. I have always called their CS number.

DVD Planet has been great for selling used discs and I have received nothing but the best in customer service from them.

The store credit was placed on my account within a few weeks of shipping to them (at most) and they have shipped my orders really quickly. In fact, I pre-ordered LOST Season 2 and received it on release day.

Just one more voice chiming in regarding the consistently excellect customer service I've experienced at digital eyes/dvdplanet over the years.
Everybody makes mistakes, and dvdplanet has surely had their share of screw-ups over the years (although certainly no more so than any other similar operation), but, in my personal experience, they've also jumped right in and have worked hard to clear up whatever problems arose. What with the great prices, used disc trade-in program and solid customer service, they've got my business for as long as they're around.

So hey Mark, now that I've said all these nice things about you guys -- any chance of another double points period on the horizon?

I never had problem with Digital Eyes for over 4 years and they were number one site for buying DVDs, but I recently had the same experience as nelslus - my order was charged twice for the same item and 2 copies were sent. My initial emails to Mark and customer service were unanswered, so I had to call to resolve the issue. The pre-paid label was sent promptly and item was credited back. I haven't ordered with them since due to my decision to cut back on buying DVDs, but I might order soon to see if it will go smoothly.
