I don't think SIN CITY is going to translate well to TV. The best things about the theatrical version (its raw violence and sexuality) will have to be toned down for television UNLESS they go the HBO/SHOWTIME route, which may be the best thing to do.

I thought there already was a series based on Rounders. It's called "Tilt" and it blew, even though it was created by the guys behind Rounders. Ridiculous

Yeah, that was what immediately popped into my mind.

I can't think of an 'on purpose' series, though, either.

The only way I think a Sin City series would work would be if, they put on HBO (other pay cable), and they keep Miller & Rodriguez on as (at least) creative consultants... They other problem, they'll never get all the film's actors to recreate the characters on a TV show...
I also remember them planing to shoot 2 sequels back-to-back... Is that still happening? Right now Frank Miller's the only director listed on Sin City 3: Hell & Back...
And as stated above, Rounders been done as TILT... Wasn't bad, IMO, but I heard the ratings were...

I'm not sure that it would work on TV, it's high-concept art direction really works on the big screen, where you can get away with that level of suspension of disbelief, but I just don't think it would look right on the small screen. And I love the movie!
