DVD Talk Legend
From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Magic_7
The Magic 7 is an animated TV movie written and directed by Roger Holzberg. It centers on the adventures of two children and a dragon as they fight the arch-enemies of Earth. It is tenatively scheduled to be released in 2005, though it may be postponed.
Production on the film began in 1990 and has been much delayed ever since. Consequently, two of the actors who recorded voices for the parts in film are now deceased: John Candy, the voice of Smokestack Sam, died in 1994; Madeline Kahn, the voice of Wastra, died in 1999. Other actors, such as Michael J. Fox, James Earl Jones, Jeremy Irons, and Ice-T, all recorded their voices in the early 1990s.
The film was reportedly supposed to be shown on TV on Earth Day 1997, but was postponed.

In production since 1990?? That reminds me of that Eddie Murphy's Pluto Nash movie. I guess that one had been in the stages of development hell since the 80's.
Sounds like it's time to put a fork in this animated project. Especially before more of the voice talent dies off.

DVD Talk Hall of Fame
This isn't the first time this has happened. The animated movie "The Thief and the Cobbler" was begun in the 1968 and finally finished in 1995, five years after Vincent Price had died.
