Anyone else ever get a free, extra DVD packaged in the case of another DVD?

I got tired of people always pointing out that I have a lot of unopened DVDs on my shelves, so I had an "unwrapping party" today and spent about an hour opening up the sealed packages.

As I opened up each package and made sure each disc was unscratched, -- much to my surprise -- when I opened "16 Candles" I instead found "A Simple Twist of Fate" (starring Steve Martin).

Needless to say, I was a little ticked off, but when I took the movie off the spindle I found "16 Candles" below it.

Has this kind of thing ever happened to any of you?

I know that many people have gotten the wrong movie packaged in their case, but this is the first I've heard of multiple movies accidentally packaged together.

Now that's what I call a simple twist of fate.

It hasn't happened to me, which I know because I always open my DVDs as soon as I get home. Only once have I had to return a disc because of a scratch/defect (it was a floater).

That happened to me once, but it was two copies of the same disc. I sold the extra one on eBay, after making myself a color copy of the insert.

I bought Remember the Titans and had two of the same discs. I kept 1 disc and the case and sold the extra disc on eBay. I also bought Go Nagai's The Devil Lady vol. 2 but when I played the dvd it was actually a different anime called Blue Seed (even though Devil Lady was printed on the dvd). I ended up having to exchange the dvd through ADV.

Nope, never was lucky enough to get an extra disc. A couple times I've found an extra insert, though

Well, it kind of happened to me once. About a year after buying the first MAD ABOUT YOU DVD set, I opened it to find out that one of the DVDs was MISSING. Now I open all my stuff right away, even if I don't intend to watch it for a while.

What did you do about it? Is there really any course of action that we can take if this happens.

It happened to me once. It was the fourth disc of a friends season 1 set from Columbia House.

Luckily it was a set and luckily I opened it right away. They exchanged it without any trouble. But what if I didn't open it. In fact I still have almost the entire series unopened because I plan on giving them for future presents over the next year or so.

When I bought the Two Towers EE, it was missing the third disc.

Store replaced it, no problem. But that sucks when you planned to sit down and watch the extras and discovered that.

How is it lucky? A free copy of "A Simple Twist of Fate" is nothing to be envious about.

When I bought Four Flicks, the Rolling Stones 4-DVD set, I found it had an extra copy of disc 2 (the arena concert) sitting on top of another one. So I have one in my easy-access binder and the 4disc set intact. That's it for me (though I also have many unopened discs).

That's only happened to me once... and it was some crappy $4 action movie. The extra DVD was just another copy of the same movie. Crap.

I had this happen on x-files season 4, there were two disc 3's on top of each other. Thought it was funny, sold it for 5 bucks. Helped offset the price i paid when they were expensive.
