Who needs Song of the South? when we haveThe Adventures of Brer Rabbit. Spring 2006

Kicking & Screaming has a trailer for The Adventures of Brer Rabbit coming Spring 2006.

Nick Cannon as Brer Rabbit
D.L. Hughley as Brer Fox
Wayne Brady as Brer Wolf
Danny Glover as Brer Turtle
Wanda Sykes as Sister Moon

Looks like a direct to video release.

I sure hope disney makes with the goods next year...but that is a subject for another thread...

Hmm..I certainly enjoy the "story within a story" of Brer Rabbit, so this has possibilities. Like yourself though, I'm looking forward to Song Of The South getting it's offical release.

This is one where I actually am glad to have a bootleg. Hopefully with the new CEO coming in, SOTS will get the official release it deserves.

And I thought I was the only one.

I would love to see this movie get a proper release as the transfer on my copies is a little dark.

It would be a beautiful film if they would give the transfer the proper treatment. I would love to see a well-done documentary included with it on the history of the film from beginning to when political correctness set in.

This movie & the Star Wars trilogy are all I am waiting on now.

A slightly-off pronunciation of "brother". So it's brother without the 'oth'!

I always thought "Brer" was "Brother". And the experts say? . . .

And I thought it was "brier" as in "brier patch." Have I been wrong all these years?

Brer Rabbit told Brer Fox that he did not want to be thrown in the briar patch.

Years ago when I was in Japan they had an official release, (logos on wrapper etc.) I purchased the LD of Song of the South. This will do until Disney releases it on dvd.

I've got that version as well. Not a bad print, but the japanese subtitles during the songs are slightly annoying.
