help identify movie about racism in the 50s!
Hey everyone. So I saw this movie a few years ago. I can't remember who's in it, or exactly when it was made (i'm guessing in the 90's), but I need help identifying it.
Essentially, it's set in the 50's (maybe earlier...) and it's about a woman who works/lives in a whorehouse. She, and all the other women are african american, but she's lighter-skinned. Anyway, there's these milkmen that come by every week. They're white, and they insult the women, and frequently break their milk bottles upon delivery. But, one milk man falls in love with the lighter-skinned woman, and leaves her a note in the bottom of the milk crate saying "I love you". She can't read it, so she takes it to a child who tells her what it says, and helps her to write a note to the milkman. They have an affair, and he tells her that she's an exception from the rest of the african americans because her skin is lighter. My memory about the rest is kind of cloudy. I THINK she has a child who is dark-skinned, and the milkman dumps her. Also, I seem to remember that the OTHER milkmen find out about the affair and take it upon themselves to rape the woman.
I THINK it was a TV movie, but I'm not sure. Any one have any ideas?
I did a search on imdb.com, and can't find ANYTHING that seems to be the right title.
So, work your magic, DVDTalkers, and let me know if you have any idea what I'm talking about!
Thanks!

That sounds like episode #13 of "Cold Case".
