I thought it was interesting. I like Peter Coyote so it was nice to see him added to the cast (I assume he'll be around for awhile). The diary subplot was a bit lame though. It's not bad but it's not great and because it fills the hour between Gilmore Girls and SVU I'll keep watching.

They added Peter Coyote to the cast? Maybe I should have checked this out.

Eh, on second thought, I'd probably just get bummed about the fates of both The Inside and Line of Fire.

I enjoyed the political stuff and liked the Peter Coyote/Geena Davis scenes a lot. Donal Sutherland continues to be an interesting character although I think they should make him more than Black or White.
The Diary stuff bugged me and the kids seem a bit too perfect for their own good.

Gee, they had all these Sci Fi movie actors all together.

Donald Sutherland's character is such a manipulative snake and he plays it so well. I love to hate him. Funny that Hollywood understands perfectly what we despise in politicians and gives us everything we admire in fictional presidents. Damn shame neither party can deliver in real life.

Just so I have this straight: we have an Independent President, a Democratic VP, a Republican Cabinet, a Democratic-controlled Senate, and a Republican-controlled House?

Yeah, that'll happen.

Yeah, that'll happen.

A liberal governor of NH getting twice elected to President. Yeah, that'll happen.

The re-election storyline: Indy vs Dem vs Rep should be interesting when they get to it.

Good episode last night.

I have one question though... in a preview, they showed President Allen dancing and one of her aids commented that she was leading. Was this scene in this episode? I was kinda looking forward to this scene, but I didn't see it.

Does this show remind anyone of "Yes, Minister"?

Agree on both

It's like a soap opera version of The West Wing

Wow, that's pretty huge news. Too bad it wasn't Sorkin.

That's too bad. The kids need to be less perfect.

The bottom line is Lurie is inexperienced running a 22 episode show and they needed someone who runs a tight ship and gets the product out. Bochco has done that for over 30 years in TV, so I think it's a good move. I wonder if Lurie will still write some episodes though or if he is only "In name only" as Executive Producer.

Yep. It won't win any awards but I find it pretty entertaining. I was sad to see Julie Ann Emrey leave the show.
