Inconceivable being yanked, future dim

NBC said this Friday's airing of the new fertility clinic drama, "Inconceivable," was being yanked in favor of a "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" rerun. It's not officially a cancellation, but given that only 4.5 million people saw "Inconceivable" last week, its prospects are dim.

(I admit, I just wanted to use the Princess Bride image.

According the The Furon Critic site, Inconceivable is "supposed" to return Oct. 14, but when have we heard that before?

My guess is that the L&O repeat will get huge numbers and they shelve Inconceivable indefinitely. What is it with NBC and that timeslot? They had this problem with Boomtown (except that was a good show.)

I thought that Medical Investigation did reasonably well for that timeslot last year, but they cancelled it as well.

I didn't think the show was that bad. Just having Tivo I always try to give as many new shows as possible a chance, no matter the word of mouth.

I was on my way out the door last Friday and before I turned off the TV I saw this show starting.

I don't claim to watch every new TV show, but I've usually at least heard the name in passing...this one, nada. Did they even promote the show?

I think Law & Order: SVU gave them unreasonable expectations for that timeslot when it used to air there. Not to mention Numbers has been a big hit for CBS

I saw the first ep of this and thought it was ok, saw the ratings and didn't bother with the second ep becasue I figured it would be yanked quicky.

I am mainly watching it because it is an unusual setting for a show; kind of a refreshing change of pace from all the crime procedurals. It's not a bad show, just nothing to set your schedule around.

I think they are trying to do Nip/Tuck: Extra Lite. I think someone could do a cool, edgy show about a fertility clinic, but this show needs more bite. The subject matter needs more irreverance and this show's tone is more serious like E.R.

I think that's the reason they weren't getting good ratings..

My wife & I watched the pilot and I can easily see why this one is being cancelled. It was simply horrible. They show tried to be too cute, too melodramatic and the results was that it came out very cheesy & silly. The acting was poor (even by the previous ER actors) and it was just plain bad. I think the suits made a correct decision on this one.

NBC has shelved the show for the whole month of October and production has stopped. In other words, this show is as good as gone...

I read they're thinking about moving Criminal Intent in to that slot due to it getting creamed by the Housewives
