XBox 360...Still possible to get one 11/22?
I'm interested in getting one, but I wanted to ask all of you if you think it's even remotely possible of getting one 11/22?
I know all the Video game stores like EB Games and Gamestop aren't taking preorders anymore. So, do you think it's possible to get one that day without having to wake up at the butt crack of dawn to go to a big retailer like Best Buy. Or do you think I should wait until the hype dies out and hopefully get one after the holidays?

I'm sure it's possible...but they haven't announced what kind of numbers they are producing. You would probably want to get their earlier than later. Although, it could be another PSP and they were widely available.
Also, if you have a GAMERUSH near you, check that for a pre-order. No Bundles, just the premium system. I pre-ordered there since I had lots of credit left.

Personally I'd wait until the first batch is sold and the problems (if any) arise. This is of course remembering what happened to pretty much every major console released so far. But if you want one of the first ones I guess demand is subject to your area and the stores you want to buy from. In other words no one will know until 11/22.

I don't know... the economy is beginning to slowdown overall, and there's speculation that a lot of people won't spend as much this Xmas. Not sure how well a 400 dollar system is going to sell this year, even at Xmas time, but we'll see.

I would wait to preorder from a store like Best Buy or Circuit City, which HOPEFULLY will not be selling these god damn overpriced and unneccesary bundles with games that save you 4 dollars.

Time will tell, but unless they have some hardware shortage like the PS2 launch, I'm still not convinced it will be hard to find up until Xmas. but to be sure, you should always preorder... or be willing to wait at one of the bigger stores late at night/early in the morning.

Is the suggested retail price $399.00? I did in fact notice that Game Rush is still taking pre-orders for 100 bucks down on their website. Now that I think about it, I don't think this system will disappaer off shelves. I mean it's 400 bucks and games are 60 bucks a piece.

I have to agree with the price playing a big factor in these sitting on the shelves. I doubt there will be a problem unless MS decides to short produce them like the PS2 to generate hype during the Christmas season.

With the $400 price tag I can't imagine you wouldn't be able to walk into a store or two and pick one up on launch day without a preorder and without waiting in midnight lines or whatever.
Unless of course they ship a ridiculously low amount of them, but I don't see that happening as they need to get as many in homes as possible before the PS3 launch.

I've also never had a problem buying a system on launch day. For the PSP, I just arrived at Best Buy a half hour before they opened. The best part was leaving Best Buy with my PSP and Lumines and seeing a bunch of suckers waiting in line at the EB Games next door waiting to pick up their preordered PSP.

Guys, I appreciate the input. That's some serious cash for a video game system. I don't think I will look into preordering anymore. I think if I have time I may pick one up on launch day or sometime that week, but I'm not going to wait in line early in the morning. With high gas and energy prices, I think most families aren't in a dire rush to spend that kind of money.

For me it's not high gas and energy prices, it's just I paid $400 combined for the XBox, PS2, Gamecube, Dreamcast and N64 I have in my basement right now. It's all about value for me. I like to stay behind the technology curve, it's cheaper back here.

One thing to consider is sales tax. If you live in a high tax sales state like I do (and you happen to want all of the games in a particular bundle) you might be in a better position if you order online. I ordered one of the Gamestop bundles. Even with shipping, I am saving almost $40 since I don't have to pay sales tax online. It's like getting an extra controller for free.
