The Ringer: Starring Johnny Knoxville

Did a search and didn't see a post on this. Looks pretty good actually.
Johnny Knoxville and Brian Cox Fix the Special Olympics. Knoxville gets to pretend to be mentally retarded (which if you've seen his other movies, is not so much of an acting stretch). The guys funny though, so i'll probably see this one.

Damn! How long ago did the trailer for this first appear? Anyone know why it was delayed for so long?

Yeah, I saw the teaser/trailer for this at least a year ago. Don't know where it has been, but it isn't a good sign.

I'll see it only if a fucked-up little girl with broken limbs crawls her way out of a well...

Is this finally coming out? Been waiting. They probably put it on hold until Dukes of Hazzard came out so his name would be enough to carry a film... or something like that

I just watched the real trailer for this over at apple.com...and it looks just AWFUL...predictable, stupid jokes involving falling down, people getting hit in the crotch etc...I'm surprised many of you think this looks decent!?! To add more insult to injury, this has been sitting on the shelf for what, 2 or 3 years? I remember seeing the teaser in the theater with Dodgeball. Bottom line, I hope to never see this garbage.

i saw this quite a long time ago. i imagine it was shelved because it doesn't deliver the laughs. brian cox does okay. everything else is tedious.

(Johnny sitting on a giant old fashion washing machine)
"Hi, I'm Johnny Knoxville & welcome to Jackass!!! "
(he lays down and is pulled through a couple of ringers and falls into a big pool of soapy water)

I guess there's something wrong with me. I just saw the long trailer on Apple and I was laughing my ass off! So wrong, but so funny.

Saw this last night. I'll give it 1/2 star. I laughed once.

Spoiler:
When the kid comes out of nowhere and says, "When did we get fucking ice cream."

I thought it was pretty good. Knoxville is a trailer version of Jackie Chan, doing his own stunts (I think), and the humor was along the lines of The Three Stooges. It was 90 minutes that I don't regret. Not a genius classic nor a shitty movie.

I enjoyed it, but it was filmed here so I had the bonus of picking out locations and even a few people that I recognized. It was pretty enjoyable, all in all.

I had the opportunity to see this at a special screening for Special Olympics Iowa in December (the first National games are here Ames in July, so this was a promo event before the actual premiere). Knowing what the movie was trying to do ahead of time left me with the right expectations, so I got some laughs and enjoyed the time well enough. Nothing great by any means, but good enough for one time through.

I saw this was on HBO a while ago so I set the DVR thinking there may be a day in the future where I was so bored I might watch it. Well, today was that day and I ended up fast forwarding through to the end after the other olympians outed him. I don't remember finding anything funny. And the end was so ahem... retarded, that I wish I wouldn't have even watched that.

May I please have my hour back?
