There used to be ads in this forum for 'region free/macromedia free' DVD players, so Im gussing this is ok.

I need a VCR without macromedia protection on it (or whatever scrambling technology the old VHS tapes had)

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Macrovision. And there aren't any. Maybe pro models, but you don't want to spend that kind of cash on VHS. Just pick up a Sima MV defeater at Best Buy.
