Reconstruction

Who saw it, and what'd you think? I watched it tonight (bought it blind because I loved the trailer on the "Dolls" DVD), and was blown away. Definitely up near the top of my all-time favorites list...

I saw this quite awhile ago. Loved it....own it. Personally, I enjoyed it much more than Kitano's "Dolls".

Agreed. The two films aren't all that similar (perhaps in themes, but not much else). While I enjoyed "Dolls," and have seen it more than once, I absolutely fell in love with this one.

I saw it a while back -- I liked it! It's amazing that Nikolaj Lie Kaas is in every Danish film I see!

I saw it while my wife got some work done last night. She caught glimpses of it walking past. At the end she asked "Did you like it?"

I paused and thought.

She said "That's too long a pause..." indicating that it wasn't good.

I interrupted her and let her know that it was hard to answer. My feelings watching, and having the film end, were conflicted. I had an idea what the film was going to finish with, and it didn't go that way. I was busy trying to figure the film out while watching.

As we talked about the film a bit, and I tried to explain what I thought it was about while watching I came to another undestanding about the film entirely. The more I described the film and analyzed it the better I liked it.

I'm going to watch it again with my wife soon and I hope to deepen my appreciation of the film further.

At first glance, I thought this thread was referring to The Big Red One: Reconstruction.

Haven't seen this movie though...

OK, watched it again.

Sad to say, it didn't hold up well to the 2nd viewing. My wife summed it up well:

"I think I liked the way you talk about it more than I liked the movie."

Watched this tonight after putting it off for a long time. Thought it was a brilliant, brilliant film. Genius film making in places.

FincherFan, if you're reading this...did you ever get around to seeing this movie? I know that you said that you were going to give it a shot in another thread. Just curious to see if you've tracked down a copy, and if so, what you thought of it.

Howdy, Pro. Just checking in. Are they up yet? If so, could you point me in the right direction? I browsed the site for a bit and didn't see anything.

Hi,

Actually...They have been up for more than 2 weeks but it seems are no longer on the main page. Here's my tiny list (and the rest):
