Shaw Bros. dvds with little to no comedy.
I love Shaw Brothers kung fu movies, but not the humor. Can anybody recommend some good kung fu flicks that don't have the bad humor? For example, "Eight Diagram Pole Fighter". Excellent. No bad chinese cinema comedy.
Any others? Any region is fine. Thanks!

How about a good old classic like 36TH CHAMBER OF SHAOLIN? I'd recommend that one.

The Tea House, but that's not a kung fu flick. It's a great drama, though.
The Boxer from Shantung
Five Shaolin Masters
The Water Margin and All Men are Brothers
Five Venoms
The Deadly Duo (if I remember well, there's no real comedy)
Vengeance
King Boxer (aka Five Fingers of Death)
Heroes Two
As a general rule, if you don't like stupid comedy, stay away from Liu Chia-liang movies. He usually mixed in comedy with action, some of it not so funny. Heroes of the East is a great movie, but has some comedy. There's a lot more fighting than funny stuff, though. I definitely second 36th Chamber of Shaolin, though.
You might also try some Chor Yuen movies, like the Sentimental Swordsman movies. He usually put characters before action, though.
