I am looking very forward to this new Mario Game that is suppose to be a throwback to Mario Bros. 1-4.

There seemed to be some big hype last year before it dropped from existence it seems.

Just wondering if anyone has any word if a release is planned soon?

As someone who grew up on the original mario brothers games (Super Mario Bros. 3 and Mario World were the highlights), I look forward to this.

Will this be an official sequel to the original Mario Brothers Series? I mean will it follow off of what Mario Brothers 3 and Mario World started? So, would this be like Mario Brothers 5 with those characters from the former? Or is this a whole new game?

I'm pretty much holding off buying a DS until this and the Princess Peach games come out. For me, the 3d games just aren't Mario.

The word around e3 was that this was going to be the big holiday title this year.

Not much has been said, but it's a friggin' new 2D Mario. I don't need more details. I'm there.

Word, one of the details I did learn about it is a possible two player co-op mode, now that is badass!

One of the reasons I will eventually buy this system is this game... I have terribly missed a mario 2D advdenture, the added feature of becoming a giant Mario looks really intriguing...

There has not been too much of a discussion on forums about new mario. I think last time, they showed a new video from E3 and most people were shocked with art direction. Alot folks where surprised to see lego like polys instead of more beautiful sprites or hand drawn work. Other then that, its been fairly quiet.

I think that E3 video is pretty much it for what anyone outside of Nintendo knows.
