First off, God I hope this hasn't been posted before and I'm in the right forum. I can't seem to get it right no matter how hard I try. :hairpull:

On Jones Road, in NW Harris County, Houston, Texas is a 99 Cent Store and I saw tons of DVDs for 99 cents. Most of them are in cardboard sleeves, but quite a few are in the cool hardcases. Of course most of them are also lame or B&W or public domain or extreme odd wads that only a mother would watch.... but there were some cartoons and such that might be worth getting esp. if you have kids and want to keep them entertained without giving them the $good$ stuff.... or to keep in the car where it wouldn't matter if they got tossed around, etc.

I don't know how much cases costs, but I thought it wasn't a bad idea to use the hardcases for your better movies and put the junk in the junk cases... and you could only buy one if one was all you needed.

Anyway, that's my 2 1/2 cents on the subject. Do with it what you will. ;)

Thanks for the effort, but DVDs at the 99 cent/dollar stores is way old news. Most dollar stores have carried dozens, sometimes hundreds of titles continuously for well over a year. It's a huge multi-million dollar product category for those stores. Empty DVD cases, BTW, can be had for under 30 cents each in quantity on Ebay.

Also, Dollar Tree sells them in packages of 3 for $1.

Oh.

I knew I didn't get out enough. -screwy-

Sigh.

Well, now I know.

Sorry to have wasted the space.

Thanks for settin' me on the straight n' narrow. :flowers:

That's OK, I'm sure you were as excited as I was the first time I saw DVDs for a buck. Unfortunately many of the titles were barely worth the buck and had no rewatch value whatsoever, but hey, they make your DVD collection look that much bigger.

Are these at the Dollar Tree sturdy? And are they black?

I don't know about the sturdiness, since I haven't bought any, but they are black. They appear to be ordinary dvd cases.

Stopped by Dollar tree. No dice on the DVD cases. However, Wally World carries nice DVD cases in a pack of 10 for less than $4.50. Not too shabby if you don't need a hundred.
