I am looking to open up a new credit card, but am looking for one that has an awesome rewards program (preferably one with airline rewards). I just opened up an Amazon one. Thanks in advance...

I think american express allows you to use the most different airlines. You can look at their program on their website.

My Citi dividend platinum select gets 1% cash back on all purchases, with 5% cash back on gasoline, grocery store, and drugstore purchases. The first check is sent out after you get $25 and there's a max of $300 per year.
If anybody wants more info, shoot me an email.

Are you sure it is not $50? I know that both of my Citi Dividend cards have a threshold of $50 to cash in.
I would recommend that the OP check out www.fatwallet.com and read the Finace Forum which has tons of info about rewards cards. More importantly, you should be able to find a link that offers you $50-$150 as sign up bonus for various cards. The Citi Dividend card has a $50 promo with it - if you find a copy of the add or a link.
The Citi Dividend Card is one of the best cash back rewards cards out right now.
Also, Discover has three different 5% back cards - one for Restuarants, one for Gas, and one for Home Improvement.

... Discover has three different 5% back cards - one for Restuarants, one for Gas, and one for Home Improvement.I got excited about the 5% Home Improvement card. Then I went to Discover's web site:
Each year, earn a full 1% (5% for home improvement) of your first $1,500 in purchases; your second $1,500 in purchases earn .50% (3% for home improvement) and purchases in excess of $3,000 earn .25% (1% for home improvement).
I hate when credit card companies pull this crap. Always gotta read the small print!

Yeah - $90 cashback is better than nothing though. Most of the cashback programs have a limit, although discover's is the worst.
The best thing to do is by homedepot gift cards at a grocery store with a 5% cashback citi/chase card.

My wife's (well, the account was set up on her name, I'm an "authorized user") Citi dividend platinum select card hits the $300 very early in the year (5% on grocery and gas really adds up). So we've been using lesser reward cards. But I finally signed up for a new one under my credit history (her as an authorized user). They offered me a "Citi Professional Card with Rewards" with a 10,000 point bonus (should be worth $100 GC). For some reason they also signed me up for a second Citi Dividend card (while promising me that they were doing this all with only one hard hit [no soft hit] to my credit report) with the same credit limit.
I asked the lady if it was kosher to have multi-cards and she said she "has lots of customers who do that".
So, now we have $900 per year in available cash back via three separate Citi Dividend cards, plus our other cards (and the bonus on the Professional card).
I plan on not using the new second card for a few months (till we max the cash back on the new first card) and take advantage of their "no interest/fee balance transfer" offer to put like $5000 or so in the ING account for a few months. I would only do this on a card I'm not using for real charges, since we pay everything in full each month. I'll only do this if I think I can do this and make $50 interest or so doing it. It is a little late in the year. It really depends on if when I think we'll hit the $300 limit and want to start using that card for cash back.

I'm still looking for a GOOD balance transfer card. I'm looking to get 0% for a year or more. I have about $3000-$4000 I want to transfer. No transfer fees would be great.
Thanks!

There is a FAR easier way around the $300 limit. Call up Citi and switch your Dividend Card to the Diamonds Card (or vice versa) and you will have NEW limit all over again! DO NOT TELL them that you are doing it to start your limit over!
Diamond card = Thank You Points - I have done this with no problems. It takes a few weeks to get the new card. It is NOT a new line of credit - so there is no re-app and NO credit inquiry (yeah)!
IMHO though it is more than worth the credit inguiry for 10,000 Thank You points.
I have hit the $300 on two Dividend Cards and the $750 limit on my Diamond card. I just converted one Dividend Card to a PremierPass for 15,000 Thank You points (mail in promo).

I like the Amazon one you just got.
No annual fee, $25 Amazon GC for every 2500 points get one point for every dollar spend anywhere and 3 points for every dollar spent at Amazon.
You can buy pretty much anything at Amazon, so it comes in handy.

I have the Citibank Dividend card too and was wondering how you guys know when you've reached the $300 max for the year. Do they alert you to that or is that something you check that online somewhere?
My card is a little different in that my dividend dollars are constantly accruing and I can request a rebate check at any time (this might be because I have the Student card). Might this affect my ability to keep track of the max also too?
I've had the card for about a year, and since I'm a student still, won't be reaching that limit just yet, but I wanted to know for future usage.
Thanks!

Whats the best gas reward credit card?
Sloth911

You can check your Dividend Dollars Online under "rewards activity" in the first menu.
Chase, Citi, and Discover all offer cards that give you 5% back on gas pruchases - however you have to accumulate points/dollars that you can redeem in $20/$50 increments.
The Chase Perfect Card offers 3% cashback on gas - credited towards your next bill automatically.
If someone posts about a 5% back AAA MBNA card - it exists but has NEW limitations that make it non-attractive.

I like my Providian Card.
I know many dislike the company.
No limit or fees
Cash-Back is tiered but the highest level is

I have an American Express Gold Rewards card. I get double points on gas, post office, cell phone bill, and groceries. Like 5,000 points is one $50 gift card so it's not bad. It also has no limit, you just pay it off at the end of the month. Works out great for me.

I have the AMEX Gold aslo. This is essentially 1% cashback card w/ 2% cashback card on gas, post office, cell phone bill, and groceries.
Not really that great on gas/groceries because you can get a Citi/Chase card that give 5% back.
It is good card to carry for 2% back at the post office if you send lots of stuff.
In general though, unless you get the $100 annual fee waived, this card isn't really all that great for the "average" consumer when you can get far better cashback cards for FREE.
========================
I have almost 20 credit cards, these are the ones I uses daily to extract the most cashback.
I have a Citi Dividend/Citi Diamond/Chase Rewards Cards for 5% back on gas, groceries, pharamacy purchases
I carry a discover card for 5% on restaurants (sucks cause discover isn't as widely accepted)
I carry a Penfed card that offers 1.25% back on all purchases.
Although, I usually just make extra purchase on one of the aftermentioned citi/chase card at 1% cashback to hit the $50 redemption tier faster.

Check out Pulaski Bank & Trust, Simmons First National, and First Horizon National. All three have single digit rates, but you need excellent credit history to qualify.

Just surfing through the threads and came across this one, and I couldn't believe no one mentioned the Universal Mastercard by Chase.
This card gives you a point a dollar, and it focuses on DVD's! Every month it has a new release for 1000 points, I just got The Interpreter from them.
They also have a nice selection of other Universal titles. They cost 1500 points each. I have gotten 8 total movies for free from them, plus 50 $ in Circuit City GC's.
They also have all sorts of other stuff, but the DVD's are the best feature. No annual fee, and it looks cool too!

I really like my Citi Diamond prefered rewards card. One point for every $1 spent, plus 5 points for every $1 at gas, grocery, drug stores. I believe the max you can earn each year is 40k points, but I could be wrong.

Just a footnote to my last post, the card I was talking about, the Universal Rewards Mastercard by Chase, has the Gladiator Extended Edition DVD for 1500 points. That is the same price as the Carlito's Way Ultimate Edition DVD, the Unleashed DVD, and Hulk DVD, and the 2 Fast 2 Furious DVD. Just to give you some comparison...
