I love Jake the Snake Roberts, can't wait to pick it up! I never saw the match against Honky Tonky Man (He is my favorite also)

It's too bad they didn't/couldn't include any of his classic Heroes of Wrestling work:
Seriously though, I'll pick this DVD up for sure, I'm a huge fan of the guy back when he was...well, just back when.

I remember a match against the EarthQuake and Jake is stuck in the ropes and the Earthquake sat on his snake and killed the snake, I wonder if that match is on there, I remember that match very well and would love to see it again on the DVD....

Doesn't seem like a great lineup given all Jake did. The feud with DiBiase lasted over a year and no match on here. The Macho one set him into the heel Jake after Warrior bailed for over 6 months. Do we really need Jake vs. T.L. Hopper?

I remember seeing the Jake The Snake Roberts-Undertaker highlights on the Undertaker DVD but I wonder why they didn't add it on there?

I didn't see Jake in his pre-WWF days, so I don't know what his workrate was there... but let's be honest, in the WWF, Jake was NOT a good worker. He was a great interview subject, though. So I'm not concerned about any missing WWE matches.

That's the vs. Earthquake match from Superstars in the match listing.

Coal Miner's Glove Match?
WTF?
Another entry into wrestlecrap lore. Roberts & Sting were set up to be in a "spin the wheel, make the deal" match where a wheel was marked with a bunch of different matches, and whatever one the pointer landed on after Sting spun the wheel, that was the match they would have.
For some stupid reason, no one bothered to rig the wheel to make it give a good match. So while fans expected a steel cage or russian chain match, they got a coal miner's glove match, where a metal glove was placed at the top of a pole, and whomever got their hands on it could use it.
Yeah, the match really sucked.

IMO some of his best WWF stuff was working with Rick Rude. hope they throw some clips on there or something of their feud!

I picked this up at FYE today. I had read that there was going to be a bonus disc included at FYE, but no such luck. There is a mini-book of WWE Legends, though. Does anyone know if the rumored bonus disc was ever verified, or if the mini-book is included with all copies?

My Best Buy had the book with the DVD [and the rest of the copies available], so it might be an all copy thing.

Is there a bonus DVD anywhere at all? On the outside of the cardboard slipcover, it says the total time of the DVD is 8.5 hours, but on the back of the actual DVD case (I bought it at Best Buy) it says the total time is only 6 hours.
I'm confused now.

I have only watched about 10 or 15 minutes of this DVD and I can already tell, of course we really already knew it, that Jake Roberts is truly a masterful storyteller. So far this DVD is just him sitting there, talking about his life growing up, and its some of the most interesting, heartbreaking, and well told stuff that I've ever heard. I haven't even really gotten into the part where, you know, he talks about his wrestling career yet.
If the rest of the DVD is this solid, then it will be without a doubt, one of the best DVD releases ever.

Oh lord this is a great DVD.
The Honky Tonk Man guitar shot on The Snake Pit is one of the funniest things ever, I haven't seen that in years. They play it over and over again, even in slow motion.
That DDT to Steamboat, holy crap was that a sick spot. The sound it made, and then seeing Jake pick him up and put him in the ring, it was just disgusting.
It's also great seeing them take yet another shot at Warrior, I can never get tired of that.
I don't think there is a bonus disc at FYE, so just pick it up anywhere. I will say this though, I wish I had bought this off of WWE.com since I paid $19.99 for it at Best Buy, and I could have given just a few more bucks for that awesome shirt. That's one hell of a deal if you ask me.
This is one of those DVDs that can be looked at as a must own in my opinion. The main feature is one of those that I think all wrestling fans should watch. Not just because of his battles with demons, although that's a huge part of it, but just so wrestling fans who might not know a lot about the guy, can see one of the true greats in psychology and on the stick of all time. The main feature is great, possibly the best one WWE has produced yet.
Now, on to all of the special features.

I have it ordered from DDD, but I went to FYE to check out the Bonus Disc. None at all. Front just had a sticker saying limited WWE mini book. I believe that the one I saw at Best Buy today also had the mini book, so I guess there isnt an extra 3rd disc.

 I had forgotten about the incredibly lame "charge" of Ricky Steamboat's "dragon" against Jake's snake. Looking back on it, the guitar shot from the Honkytonk Man was brutal since the guitar wasn't rigged.

I got this at Wal-Mart. This and the Warrior dvd were my first WWE purchases at Wal-Mart. Great price but it makes me paranoid because I’ve never bought there before. Silly, I know. So I’ve got these questions.
1. at 28:40 during the chapter “WWE” does anyone notice what looks like some tape problems during Mene Gene’s interview? The main reason I ask this is because this seems to be a trend in mid-80’s footage and I’d hate to buy Wrestlemania and have to worry about this. Although I’m sure they’d take better care of Wrestlemania footage than Saturday Night Main Event etc.
2. At 58:07 on the “Snakes” chapter is that discoloring normal?
