Something for your holiday wish lists!

Krell, already known for their super-expensive high fidelity equipment, is unveiling HEAT, the High End Audio Theater. It’s the most staggering home theater presentation on the Expo show floor in a number of ways. It combines seven of their 450 watt, monaural Evolution One amplifiers with a pair of LAT-1000 tower speakers, an LAT-C1000 center speaker, four LAT-2000 bookshelf/surround speakers and two Master Reference Subwoofers. This monstrous 11,500-watt, 7.2 home theater system has a retail price of
Spoiler:
$344,500

We had better add this to the mix. Gotta be able to see, not just hear.

Ok, we're up to $595,000. What else can we get?

I don't know about you, but I'll need a new house. With an acoustically isolated theater room. Oh, and probably 2 of them, one for movies, one for listening. (different acoustic treatments) That means another Krell set, too.

So that's another $344,500 for the 2nd Krell. $5mil for the house. $100K for the acoustics.(half of that is design cost) Oh, and $0 for installation of the electronics. I'm a DIYer, wouldn't want to waste money.

That's just over $6mil. But we don't have any cables yet.

I have actually seen this in action. I can say...I would never spend that money on it...its nice but no way that much nicer than what most can have.

Ditto. I have a feeling that the setup at www.artsonneborn.com is better. That's only about $23K times 2 for his PJs.

But that's also kinda why I put it in this thread. I'd say the same thing about the Krell, I imagine.
