GIEC GK-3500: The $89 region free player at YesAsia (How is it?)
My Cyberhome 300 died on me last night, so I'm in need of a DVD player that can play everything I have. Since the Cyberhome 300 stretches my R2 widescreen DVDs, I want to upgrade to something a bit better that will not do this. How is this DVD player at YesAsia? I did a search on it but couldn't find it mentioned at all, not even within any threads.

I'm a faithful yesasia customer but they do tend to overprice items. Figure the player to be 20pct marked up on real retail (just guessing). Why not go to a B&M store and get the Philips 642 or Daewoo 9200N? It if fails, it's a lot easier to return and exchange for another unit.

Thanks for the response. Since I posted this thread, and it hasn't even been that long ago, I did a bit of research and found the thread here talking about the Philips DVP642, so it's cool that you mention that one here. I called my local WalMart, and they had it in stock. I just drove over there, picked one up, hooked it up, and it works like a charm...AND it ended up only costing me $60.75, so that's not bad at all.
