Does anyone have an idea why only a couple of the MGM Midnite Movies are part of the deal? I'm interested in a couple not listed, and since they're the same price, it didn't really make sense to me why they wouldn't be included.

I had the same question about the Woody Allens. Why only Sleeper and Manhattan? If Love and Death were on the list, they would've had me in for six. Instead I managed to walk away with just Manhattan, Night of the Hunter and the Fisher King (I'm finally throwing in the towel on an SE).

Made an order, DDD is great as always!
Donnie Brasco was a blind buy though. I like mobster/crime movie's, so am I going to like this one? By the looks of the reviews it sounds like I will, and all the bonus features, and being it is only $6.08 shipped, I took a chance on it! :D

Quick question.
It says I am going to get the SE version of Terminator, but the DVD Pic on DDD's site just has the normal version of it. I then went to dvdempire.com to look it up. Used the UPC to enter in on MY DVD Profiler, and the version that popped was the Terminator SE version. So I am getting the SE version then? DDD's pic is just wrong?
Also, the Terminator SE DVD cover is holo-foil right?

This is a little complicated. The idiots at MGM decided to take out the special features on many of their releases and then re-release these DVDs as barebones editions but with the same UPC, confusing every dvd retailer and consumers alike. There is a list somewhere around dvdtalk of all the dvds that MGM did this to, but I can't seem to find it. At the top of my head there is:
The Terminator
Its a Mad, Mad, Mad World
Thr Graduate
Bowling for Columbine
As for the Terminator on DDD, its a random thing. I know of people who have recieved the SE edition and others who have recieved the barebones edition. Your best bet to recieve the correct edition would be to go a and buy it at a B&M store and see with your own eyes if it is a SE or not. Also there is a SE of the Terminator with the foil and another without it, so this will make like 3 different editions of the Terminator being released.

Not sure, but ...
<i>"will ship as soon as its available"</i> might mean that its already been re-ordered from the supplier and they are awaiting delivery to their warehouse.
and <i>"will be placed on backorder"</i> means they need to re-order it from the supplier.

I like Donnie Brasco a lot. Great acting from both Pacino and Depp, Michael Madsen as a mobster, what more could you want? The true story that it was based on is also really interesting.

However, I do agree with you that the Superbit is the way to go. The pic/sound is a noticable (although minor) improvement. And I personally don't miss not having those extras around...

Damn, this is the first time I placed an order with over a dozen items and everything's OOS. And most are so cheap or barebones to begin with I wouldnt bother buying them regardless if sales like this werent around.
Got all the MGM 2 packs, and even older titles like The Party and 12 Angry Men are backordered.
Thought they were just getting rid of their Moonstruck fullscreens then I checked around and found out that's the only version there is!! (Decided not to get it.)
Stuff I left in my cart when this was first posted is still around, so it's easy to combine with the Anchor Bay sale posted elsewhere.

Hope <a href="http://www.dvdcompare.net/comparisons/film.php?fid=1032">this</a> answers your question.
This UK site has a very thorough list of most (mainstream) DVD releases and it is handy for those, like me, who likes to get hold of the best versions of a movie when it comes to sound, picture and extras. The best example being Summer of Sam. Definitely better off getting the region 2 version of that one.

P.S. re: <i>"Thought they were just getting rid of their Moonstruck fullscreens then I checked around and found out that's the only version there is!! This sale is really cleaning out DDD stocks. After selecting 3 titles, and having all 3 of them out of stock, I decided to do an experiment.
I put ALL the titles from the first of the two pages of the sales titles in the shopping cart, and did some counting. The results:
60 titles not in stock
40 titles in stock
So there are your approximate current odds of DDD having your selections. BTW, I immediately cleared the cart, even though I could have saved a total of $685.74!!

Deal appears to be dead. I was tempted to place an order at the 11th hour, but I got sidetracked and it was too late when I logged in. Oh well, it's probably for the best. I can hold off for the 20 percent off sale when I actually have the funds to go around (hopefully).
