Kings of the Road (Wim Wenders) German DVD

I see Kings of The Road (Im Lauf der Zeit) is on DVD in Germany. Sadly, no English subtitles.

Anyone know of a version with English subtitles? I'd love to update my VHS.

I can never understand why DVD publishers miss out on what has to be a significant market by not providing English subs. Surely, it can't be so costly or difficult. I have quite a list of DVDs I want but don't buy because the only available edition doesn't have English subs. Kings of the Road is a bit of a landmark film, IMO, and really justifies a decent edition.

I like how it says "Wim Wenders Edition". What other kind of edition would there be?

Well, it should really be in German so it's a sort of bastard translation so the grammar and spelling is not what one would expect!

Have you ever heard about Engrish ?

I think we have the same in Europe and to me the most important is if Wenders was really involved in the content or not.
I think he was not, and this is just a marketing trick.

I also wonder that often. Region 3, it seems, has the most number of titles I want that don't have English subtitles on them. OK, so maybe they didn't think about the untapped region free market in America, whatever, but what about English speaking people who live over seas?

It has nothing to do with missing out but, as discussed in many old threads on this forum, money and regional rights!

Ask and ye shall receive

Sadly, it's in with other Wenders stuff. Maybe it'll be a single sale item too.
