Is this the longest a Women's champ has gone without defending the belt? Just goes to show that no one cares or misses it. Medusa was right to throw that thing in the trash a long long time ago.

This hasn't been very good except Flair which was hilarious. The Cade Murdoch match was terrible these guys suck. Murdoch is so bad I am 28 years old, 5'10" 265 and very out of shape and the only power is from hard labor, and I look like younger and better shape then this dude. Rosey was carrying this match all the way (shivers down my spine as I type this and problem will never have this thought again). I stopped watching because of this and will finish tomorrow with the fast forward button ready.

Nice Madusa pic, haven't heard her name in some time.
Some pretty bad missed spots on the Cade/Murdoch/Rosey/Hurricane match and the Ashley/Torrie Wilson match. I was looking forward to the Cade/Murdoch match to see what they could do in the ring. Maybe it could have been some first match jitters, we'll see.

If not for Victoria's ring entrance, that Womens match would've gone down as the worst, most dangerous match ever. RIght up there with Jackie Gayda's ring debut.

I believe it was amatch against Trish Stratus. ALL kinds of missed spots. Selling moves that missed by a mile. One of the funniest bad matches I've seen. Its been awhile since I saw it. I believe also Lawler was on her case on commentary which made it funnier then on her next match who ever it was against Lawler kept bring up this match.

It was actually Gayda and Chris Harvard against Stratus and Bradshaw. Man, that was a bad match. Among the worst I've seen in over twenty years. Gayda tried to push Stratus over the top rope, but didn't make it. She tried again, no good. Finally, Stratus jumps over the top rope like she was pushed but Gayda hadn't even touched her. The end came was Stratus tried to bulldog Gayda from the top rope. She sailed right over her head, but Gayda still sold it. You could hear the groan from the entire crowd. Even JR didn't bother to try and explain that shit. Stratus was terrible back then, but she has improved so much in the last few years.
I liked Cade & Murdoch. Murdoch is a little pudgy, but so was Dick Murdoch and he was sweet in the ring. With the Heartthrobs, Venis & Viscera and the Superheroes, there are four dedicated teams on Raw. That's not a bad start to building up the division again.
Flair was Flair. I loved the way he just clamped right on Carlito's balls, and strutted around the ring. And then he was dropping elbows and knees on the apples, hilarious! Interesting buildup too, Flair going after one of the few major belts he's never had.

I was a little let down by the simple "cage match" announcement for Hardy/Edge. I was honestly expecting something more brutal. Cages just don't impress me the way the used to. Hopefully they do something interesting with it.
Oh and Kane has a book coming out? What is that about? His real life or his wwe fantasy life? I expect a whole chapter dedicated to Katie Vick.

Madusa has been retired from pro wrestling for a while now. She is an establish monster truck driver now. Surprise there wasn't a Trish-run in as she help Ashley over the weekend at house shows when she was attack by "The Evil Divas".
The first hour of Friday Night Smackdown (with the Benoit-Jordan and MNM-New LOD matches) will be shown online at their website. The second hour of Friday Night Smackdown (with Batista-JBL Bullrope and Guerrero-Mysterio Cage matches) will air on UPN at 9:00 pm ET. No word on if the first hour is just available from 8:00 pm ET to 9:00 pm ET or if you can watch it later. (I hope its available later since I won't be home on Friday to watch.)

Didn't "Rocky" suck when he first came into the WWE? I know he was constrained a bit by his good guy gimmick, but people hated him.
They do seem to be pushing Kennedy, though... but, to me at least, he doesn't have the distinctive look of a Rock or a Stone Cold, or even a Cena, and like it or not, that's half the battle (though not the whole thing, Chris Masters). Also, even though I like his finisher, he's gonna have to change it eventually, I think... I can't see him doing it after a long PPV match when he's dead tired, or to a bigger guy like the Big Show.

Announced recently on WWE.com:
RAW is coming home to USA
A “Night of Champions” is scheduled for Monday Night RAW’s homecoming to the USA Network on Oct. 3.
Many former WWE Champions will be making their return to RAW on Oct. 3, including Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Mick Foley and Triple H. Even Mr. McMahon himself will make an appearance.
All of this is in addition to current WWE Champion John Cena and former WWE Champions Shawn Michaels, Big Show, Kurt Angle and Ric Flair being a part of the historic, star-studded evening.
RAW flourished during its seven-year run on USA network, establishing cable rating records as WWE fans flocked to the television each and every Monday night. And it’s happening all over again, so don’t miss RAW on Oct. 3 for this televised homecoming.

thoughts on SmackDown! from 9/1
They're still dragging this LOD thing out????
Are these actually the only 2 tag teams in the company???
A Diva's Wrestling Match... BRILIANT! Cyrus would been a much better casting choice...
Orton family fun time... FAST FORWARD!
This Benoit gimmick is pretty funny...
The champ taking a piss! HA The network doesn't want chicks in their underwear, but Benoit taking a piss in record time gets by "the standards" HA
HAHAHAHAHA 23.4 seconds! HAHAHA
Every time Christy comes out I keep thinking... "You can take the girl out of the Man Show, but you can't take the Juggy Dancer out of the woman."
What's with all these new wrestlers turning themselves into the new "Club Kids"????
I was gonna fast forward, but I can't pass up a Bob Holly ass kickin'...
DAMN that smack in the mouth must have stung...
"He's got a broken nose, can't you see the tape?" AHHH The ol' "tape = injury" bit...
I like this Ken Keneddy... I still think the should call him the "Knock-Off Outlaw"... Looks like Billy & talks like Road Dogg...
He's got pretty good theme music too... He'll go places, IMO...
Simon Milk... HA!
HA! He's drinking that shit through the match... HA!
WOW another "Who gives a shit tag match..."
Said it before and I'll say it again... Eddie plays a great "fucked in the head" guy...
Orton & Rey... don't care
Show's over... This shit's getting painful...
(thoughts on RAW)
Eugene's always reminded me of Hacksaw Duggan...
Tmoko's the new Luther Raines...
These characters are rediculous... Remember the late '90s when the sexual characters were cool??? Now they all seem pretty gay...
I love it when the commentators keep refering to "The Tag Team Division..." HAHAHA
Vis & Val start grinding and they cut to the toothless chick that was spawned by two drunken cousins.... HA
The Cabana... great
Well at least they give us something to look at... "ASSley" HA
Carlito's being funny, how about that... and she just stands there a giggles...
Wow, there getting Carlito's story over with some Diva window dressing... That works...
Gee she cut him off... What's gonna happen next??? I wonder...
Flair's dancing with Carlito's nuts in his hand... HAHAHA
Everyone's getting in on this "Brother!" thing...
Cade & Murdoch... Bart Gunn & Brian Nobbs???
Matt Hardy/Bischoff exchange... Funny shit... Steel Cage... Make it a Hell In The Cell... No Escape...
Hardy vs. Snitsky... Cue the Big Show....
or Edge... Ok. Since when does electricution = neck brace??? Oh wait, it goes back to the "tape=injury" theroy...
and there's the Big Show... Pointing and yelling....
So Cena won... Duh...
I've been to Boisie, Idaho... IT SUCKED! Oh wait, gotta watch Candice get in the ring...
I just saw that Gail Kim signed with TNA... Good pick up!
Ashley looks all fucked up after that match...
WE'VE BEEN BORED FOR MONTHS WITH THIS MASTER LOCK SHIT!!! WHY TORTURE US WITH A RECAP EVERY 20 MINS???
Shelton, Conway & the Racist... BRILIANT!
MY GOD!!! They raided Bob Orton's closet!!!
No intrest fast-forward...
I'm just gonna fast-forward until something catches my eye... or the show ends...
Show ended... What a bunch of bullshit!

I hear ya Salamander2, maybe not on all the guys you mentioned but some of them. It takes time to build superstars and that's what the WWE's working on right now. Rocky Miavia almost flopped but next thing you know the WWE kept at it and now he's one of the biggest stars to ever come out of the E.

The best of the best have combined great ability in the ring with great charisma (Rock/Austin/Angle/HHH/Jericho/Flair), or have had such superior ability in one area that the other wasn't necessary (Hogan on one side of the spectrum, Benoit on the other).
Carlito's the best bet out of the past year or so to reach the highest level. I don't see it for Masters, Conway or Dupree. Kennedy is the only other new guy that seems like he has potential, but it's too early to tell with him. I do see him rising to US Title level status pretty quickly. After all, he was Ken Anderson, and his last name change "coincidentally" matches a certain owner's middle name. :)

WWE has actually done a halfway decent job of bringing younger guys up. Orton, Cena, and Batista (though he's not that young) are all credible main eventers now. Edge was getting up there. Benjamin and Carlito are getting there, for entirely different reasons. Hassan was getting there too, before the unfortunate incident. And MNM is a credible young tag team (I also like Cade and Murdock, though they do need some work). None of these guys are household names or anything (though Cena seems to be getting close), but give them some time.
Sylvan, I'm not so sure of, but Kennedy, Masters, and Conway seem to be getting a push, as is Tomko (though the champ beating him clean kinda killed the monster image). And guys like HBK are being used to bring the new talent up, to make them credible.
I do like the tag division being shored up a bit, though. The champs on both sides are a joke: LOD lite has been killing jobbers, and the superheroes have been jobbing in non-title matches way too much (last week, they were used to elevate Tomko, this week they were beat cleanly by the newcomers... I like them, but who really takes them seriously anymore? and they've been jobbing for a while... didn't HHH beat both of them at once?). We've had a lot of big singles elimination tourneys, but have we ever had a tagteam one? Once they get enough teams, I wouldn't mind seeing something like that. While I can't bother to remember which show they're all on, we now have the cowboys, the brits, the hearthrobs, Val and Vis, the superheroes, MNM, LOD lite, mexicools (well there're three of them), etc. While not exactly E&C/Hardys/Dudleys status yet, at least they're getting there.

Their cruiserweight division on SmackDown right now is a joke. They give Paul London the title, but don't give him or other cruiserweights squat for interview time. So, the only way they can get themselves over is what they do in the ring. Then they tell them that they want the wrestlers to eliminate their high risk moves and go with a "safer" style, so the cruiserweights now have no way to differentiate themselves and get themselves over in the ring. Paul London complained that then there was no way then that cruiserweights could build a following, and what happened? They took the belt off of him.
fujishig
09-09-05, 03:02 PM
Wow, I didn't even know he lost the belt (which shows the respect the WWE treats that division... speaking of which, where in the world is the women's belt?). Who has the cruiserweight belt now?
SkyDog
09-09-05, 07:57 PM
Nunzio has the Cruiserweight belt now, for whatever that's worth. Trish Stratus has the Women's belt still, but she's been out quite a while, which meant that there has only been one viable women's wrestler around (Victoria). Can't have too many matches that way, huh? Trish should be returning very shortly, though, and will likely be aligned with Ashley the Diva Search winner.
P.S. Just got done watching Hour 1 of Smackdown. It was made available early. Commercials for WWE stuff were put in where the typical commercials would be, but nothing else, so it was only 48 minutes. One correction to LaxBandit's post: The Ken Kennedy-Sharmell skit was part of hour 1.

Am i the only one who thinks that being able to go out the door to win a cage match is completely stupid? It ruins the whole idea of the cage match. It should strictly be over the top of the cage, or pinfall/submission. KEEP THE DOOR LOCKED!!!!!

Yeah yeah. Still I hate that whole part of the cage match. Was it always that way? Why even bother going over the top or pinning somebody? Just walk right out the door, They will open it right up for you. At least keep it locked and put the key on a pole or something.
Anyway, I hope the feud is over. MOVE ON.

I never liked WWE cage match rules. First to escape? why even fight, just make a mad dash to the door. In WCW it was a normal pinfall match in a cage, I think it worked better that way.
