Will "Invasion" now seem controversial because of Katrina?
I got my Entertainment Weekly Fall TV Preview issue yesterday (yay!) and I have been reading it from cover to cover. The article about the new show Invasion mentioned how the show takes place in the aftermath of a devastating hurricane.
Knowing how jittery networks often get about real-life events, I wondered if they would delay this show or something. I remember so many other movies and TV shows were delayed after 9/11.
EW did mention that Invasion is one of the best new shows of the fall season. I doubt that ABC would want to mess with it. Still, I am not sure if the show contains lots of hurricane scenes, which could be a little hard for some to watch.

I guess you missed the news then. The network decided to pull its promos for the show. And they haven’t ruled out a delay either, but as of now it’s still on track for the target premier date.

I always thought this was interesting. Networks/studios get skittish showing an entertainment show that has a similar theme as some catasphophic event, but they have no problem plastering the airwaves with excessive and often exploitative news footage of said event.

Fox still aired 24 after 9/11, though they edited the plane crash.
It's up against Law & Order and CSI:NY so I doubt anyone will notice it's on anyway

I think it will air as expected, although the Hurricane dominates the entire episode. Did EW really list this as one of the best new shows? I saw the pilot a few months back and thought it was average at best.

Crap. I never realized that. I want to check it out, so I might dump CSI NY.
