Console House of the Dead question

A friend of mine is getting married in a few months and she is a HUGE House of the dead fan(especially HotD 2). What would be the best way to get her console versions of the game(including two guns) so that her and her husband can kill zombies. What are my options and which system has the best port and best gun options??

Thanks for the help, I appreciate it.

I still have a moded Dreamcast and the Japanese version and Sega guns. Fun game I still play from time to time.

I would go with Xbox version of III though since it also has II.

I'm a huge fan myself, I prefered the DC version of HOTD2 for whatever reason. (Perhaps because Sega on Sega I guess.)

I just sold my DC, HOTD2, and Lightguns too, you just missed out.

Correct me if I'm wrong about the franchise, but there's another DC game I think that's in the series called Typing of the Dead. You use the Dreamcast keyboard to type words that appear in front of the zombies to shoot them. Really way cooler than that sounds.

I have that for PC, it is very cool indeed.

I'm also interested in a console for gun games. Two guns at once a must. Please keep the recommendations coming.

If you're looking for gun games the best route to go is PS2, for the following reasons...

Time Crisis 2
Time Crisis 3
Time Crisis 4
Dino Stalker
Resident Evil: Dead Aim
Vampire Night

I do love House of the Dead, though it's sad that we may not see a console release of Virtua Cop 4. According to my release list at work the new HOTD is coming to XB360, and if it looks asgood if not better than the tech demo at E3 then DAMN im just about sold.

I am still wondering why Sega didn't put HotD 1 on part III. Part 1 is my favorite.

Anyone know what they're doing for light gun support on the new tvs?

I would also like to see HotD1 on a compilation as I've never got the chance to play that.

House of the Dead 1 is on Saturn. It plays great, but looks like crap.

Come to think of it I used to have House of the Dead 1 for PC. It was an exact copy of the Saturn version. It looked awful.

If you're doing PS2 for light-gun games and can do imports, there's a collection disc that has Point Blank 1, 2 and 3 plus Time Crisis 1. Of course, you can just get the Point Blank games for PS1, they're insanely fun mini-game styled gun games. I am wishing I hadn't sold mine long ago.

Thread back from the dead

Anyone know where I can get a dreamcast, two (quality) guns and a copy of House of the dead??

Or does anyone want to sell me theirs???

The wedding isn't till April, but I want to take care of this as early as possible.

Thanks again to all the people who contributed to this thread. Very cool.

Pawn shops.. or if you have a non-Gamestop/EB game store in your area, check them out.

And there's always eBay.

Rather than start a new thread for an old game, I'll just hijack this one from the archives:

I just set up my old xbox in my new apartment - may as well since I have enough inputs on my TV and some of my games aren't yet compatible with the xbox 360 - and I wanted to try out HotD3 since I haven't played in so long. Unfortunately, the 26" HDTV doesn't seem to recognize my light-gun for calibration purposes. It says to hold the gun in front of the screen for calibration purposes, but nothing happens at all. I've only ever tried this version before on CRT TVs - nothing more recent than 2005-2006. Does anyone know if there's any easy way to fix this or if I'm just SOL with this older version of the game with a new TV?

thanks.

You may be screwed but I recall a while back there were 3rd parties releasing guns for HDTVs (usually using some kind of sensor bar, like the wii). I dunno if they were for xbox though, more likely PS2. You could try the asian import stores, whatever they may be. I would say try lik-sang since they used to have the best range of 3rd party light guns, but they're long gone now.

Apparently the Wii version of House of the Dead 2/3 is quite good. X-Play gave it a 3/5, saying that the aiming sensitivity was spot on and that it was really easy to play.

It's probably how the original arcade version looked, but man is it really ugly in this day and age. That being said, it is a good lightgun game, and the Wii works with HDTVs...

I was eyeballing this release too after having some dumb fun with Ghost Squad. I like these $30 releases of old light gun games. Sure beats the $80 for Time Crisis 4, graphics not withstanding.

The Wii version is fun, I'm using the Nyko Perfect Shot with it. I recommend it for fans of the series.

How do you save on the Wii version? My girlfriend and I keep dying around the third level.

I don't think you can. When I was watching X-Play's review, they mentioned that the games are only around 40 minutes each.
