THE al-Qaeda master plan to take over the world and turn it into an Islamic state has been revealed for the first time.
For a new book, Jordanian journalist Fouad Hussein interviewed top lieutenants of the terrorist network, including the mastermind of many atrocities in Iraq, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.
Al-Zarqawi — al-Qaeda's Second Generation is published only in Arabic, but could be translated into English.
Hussein says al-Qaeda views its struggle as a long-term war with seven distinct phases.
Phase one is the "awakening" in the consciousness of Muslims worldwide following the September 11, 2001, suicide attacks. The aim of the attacks was to provoke the US into declaring war on the Islamic world and thereby mobilising the radicals.
Phase two is "Opening Eyes", the period we are now in and which should last until 2006. Hussein says the terrorists hope to make the "Western conspiracy" aware of the "Islamic community" as al-Qaeda continues to mould its secret battalions ready for battle.
Phase three, "Arising and Standing Up", should last from 2007 to 2010, with increasingly frequent attacks against secular Turkey and arch-enemy Israel.
Phase four, between 2010 and 2013, will see the downfall of hated Arab regimes, including Saudi Arabia and Jordan. Oil suppliers will be attacked and the US economy will be targeted using cyber terrorism.
Phase five will be the point at which an Islamic state, or caliphate, can be declared — between 2013 and 2016.
Phase six, from 2016 on, will be a period of "total confrontation". As soon as the caliphate has been declared, the "Islamic army" will instigate the "fight between the believers and the non-believers" that has so often been predicted by al-Qaeda's leader, Osama bin Laden.
Phase seven, the final stage, is described as "definitive victory".
Hussein writes that in the terrorists' eyes, because the rest of the world will be so beaten down by the "One-and-a-half billion Muslims", the caliphate will undoubtedly succeed. This phase should be completed by 2020, although the war should not last longer than two years.
Maybe this will stop some from wringing their hands at "why they hate us so."
This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone but it does fail to mention "useful idiots."

America's plan:
(1) "Awakening" Get attacked on Sept 11th. Blame ourselves. Tell the president to do something, and then criticise everything he does. Give him authority to go to war, and then say he shouldn't have gone to war.
(2)"Closing Eyes" Despite more attacks, keep the borders open. We don't want to offend anyone.
(3) "Sitting down and Shutting up" Even though our destruction is imminent, do nothing. Even though our cities are burning, the people have a right to be here according to our constitution - and we are much better people behaving more civilized. Let them have their fun.
(4) Start considering alternate fuel resources.. if the Imams say it's ok to do.
(5) I, for one, will embrace our new turbin wearing overlords.
(6) Give up. We've been beaten. How could we ever possibly have seen it coming?
(7) We may be slaves to Islam now, but we still have our dignity. People are being beheaded in our streets every day, but at least none died overseas in a strange land fighting for something they don't understand - wahoo!

Last time I checked there are 6 Billion people in the world. So for every 1 Muslim, there will be 3 to fight against. Hmm... Maybe they should rethink their plan before their final chapter is "all Mulsims stagger home after getting their ass kicked by 3 people each.".

At phase three (attacks on Turkey and Israel), Turkey will get pissed off and go Ottoman on their ass restoring stability to the entire region utilizing the amazingly effective policy of mass decapitation. I also foresee specific limited nuclear attacks by Israel on key targets the moment they feel sufficiently threatened.

You're dismissing a militia attack as a rare or unique event while claiming that "Islamofascists" do it on a weekly basis. Seems to me you are trying to excuse one while damning the other. And the only difference I can see is their race/religion. Which means you are implying that terrorism is a way of life for Muslims. Have I misunderstood something here?
Tell me something. If militia attacks were more common, who do you propose we invade? Oklahoma?

I think they need a different Risk board for AQ... because they definitely don't rule any countries, but they are still a global force that exerts influence in a state-like manner.

Using the feature to omit posts by half of the forum members indicates that, yes, you have a problem.
If you use it to skip posts by one or two users who do nothing but irritate you with content-free vitriol, then I don't see a problem with that.
