PSP: Which memory sticks work?

Hi... My friend got a PSP about a month ago and has a 512 MB card. He puts the card into either his PSP, or digital camera. Recently Fry's had the 1GB card for $89 and he tried to get Circuit City to price match and they said first that it wasn't the same as the one they had, then second, that it wouldn't work in the PSP.

I know it has to be Pro Stick Duo. They are made both by SanDisk and Sony.

Someone at CC said something about needing an adapter if he got certain cards.

Anyone know which cards work/don't work in the PSP?

Thanks!

The guy at CC is a lying liar. I wouldn't blame him, the card normally retails for $120 or so.

Anyway, Pro Duo sticks work, and are probably the best ones to get.

You CAN get an adaptor but the only reason you'll need one is to use cards upwards of 4GB. Otherwise, standard sticks work fine.

Any color works? Because CC had a yellow card and the ad had blue. The adbook from GameStop shows yellow, orange, green, blue cards.

yeah, the colors are just for show.

Personally I find having a 1GB memory card rather interesting...to say the least. Let's just say that you can do a lot of fun things with it. Of course, i'm not talking anything ILLEGAL here. I just like to program in my spare time. There's plenty of neat freeware out there too.

I've also seen, on another board, evidence that the Sandisk cards are slightly faster than the Sony ones for transferring data... seems weird to me. There are also hi speed and regular speed ones. For the purpose of gaming and most things you'll do with the PSP, the difference is negligible.
