If only there were some kind of dedicated post to Nintendogs. Then maybe someone like BrentLumkin could post it there. ah well.

Didn't even notice the ship date before, though, good catch.

Yeah, if only...

Many have said that once they ordered it, while it did say October 2, 2005 while ordering, it was changed in their order status to the correct date, the 22nd.

So who knows what is up with this deal.

Yeah, and not everyone will look in a Nintendogs thread for a half off a game they may have never purchased. Yeah...

When I add it to my cart it says there is free standard shipping. But I'm still getting charged? Anyone have a clue?

Yeah, I mentioned that earlier. I don't know what the deal is. I think I'll just pick the game up locally tomorrow.

Same thing happened to me. I placed the order, called Amazon, and they removed the shipping charge. $16.37 including tax. Pretty sweet if they honor it.

You are charged shipping because Target is shipping the item. On the order page where you go to confirm your order (last step before it says you've successfully completed the order) there is a link to click to explain why you didn't get free shipping. There it says it's because it's a Target order and Amazon doesn't ship those items for free.

But it specifically says free shipping on the product page and in the shopping cart. The statement isn't the "Free Super Saver Shipping" that the Target orders aren't eligible for.

I bet if you complain to a CSR, the price gets corrected and the orders get cancelled. We'll see, though. 4.50 in shipping does seem a little steep...

From the Amazon.com free shipping fine print:
Applies only to orders with over $25 of qualifying merchandise, excluding gift-wrap charges and taxes, at the Amazon.com, Borders.com, CDNOW.com, Waldenbooks.com, and Virginmega.com Web sites
This shipped from Target.com so it wasn't eligible for free shipping.

But why would you want all three? My understanding is that each "version" is only different with which breeds you start with - all the breeds are ultimately unlockable on all versions of the game.

Is that true? One game unlocks all breeds. Can anyone confirm/deny?

I've heard it all over the place, this article would corroborate it though I'd hesitate to say it confirms it:

It would have to have the other breeds programmed into it, because when you get in range of another game, their dog pops up on your screen, doesn't it?

I think that what he meant by this is that you can choose between all three games. I did this promotion at EB games and I was able to choose which version of Nintendogs I received, not that you receive all 3 versions.

Probably to buy themselves enough time to wade through all the orders from people who ordered it at $14.99, so they can cancel those.
Just a thought.

All three of the games contain ALL breeds, it says so right on the back of the box.

I did here that some items are only available in each version, and to get them you'll need to trade with your friends... or something like that.
