Granted I've been getting more work done these days ;) but it sure does seem like things have slowed down here :rip: Have we said all that needs to be said on all political topics :repost: Does everyone already know everyone elses position on everything so what's the point of posting/rehashing everything again :hairpull: Has the forum become so lopsided that the opposing side has been scared off -poke- Have the moderators beaten everyone into submission :horse: so they are too scared to post anything (I didn't think people liked "fixed" posts that much -ptth-). Is everyone just waiting on everyone else to start a new/interesting topic -popcorn- Are people on vacation (I thought only the President got those ;)). What's going on?

I support stem cell research.
But only as a by-product of my support of killing babies.
2nd and 3rd reason for me. The forum is definitely right-leaning so the dogpiles get tiresome. I can't even post a thread about buying an SUV without some assuming that I lead a double life at Democratic Underground (which as I've noted, I never bothered with or looked at. I find it pretty unsatisfying to post where everyone shares a similar ideology.)
Sometimes I'm in the mood for a tussle though. ;)

An expansion at work has led me to take on quite a bit more work, which includes more hiring/training, and more travel abroad. I'm simply not around as much as before.

I could start a few threads here and there but I might get a warning also for starting too many threads. :(

I could start a few threads here and there but I might get a warning also for starting too many threads. :(But even a warning about nine (or was it eleven?) threads on the first page of a single forum didn't seem to get your attention until some threads were combined.

I don't know... this subforum has been around for awhile now and it's only been the last couple of weeks that things have slowed down. Maybe it's a result of the Aug recess :hscratch:

We all get ours. Go start a thread about Christianity.
Honestly, there is nothing worse when you would like to discuss an issue, but every time you reply there are 4 more questions/accusations/challenges. It is maddening.

I think the news has just been slow lately and there aren't any really hot topics to discuss. Iraq is getting old, as far as conversation (nothing has happened that would change anyone's opinion on anything, and a mom sitting outside a ranch with moveon encouring vigils isn't really a breath of fresh air). The supreme court nomination has been going on for what seems like an eternity... news all around has been slow, short of the recent plane crashes and some weather. Gaza is really the only thing that had some potential for good discussion that I can think of lately.

If two goats constantly butt heads with each other, eventually their horns will wear down.
But give it some time and those horns will grow back and the two goats will butt heads again.
(I predict around Nov '06). :)

Oh and personally, I haven't been posting as much in this forum because A) yes there have been less threads and the news is basically the same a lot and B) my fiance and I are taking our honeymoon to Italy in November and I have been intensely researching the Roman and Byzantine Empires and general Italian history in the periods after. I want to really know something about all the history I'm going to see in person.

I think he's referring to the SUV thread where I was posting that I wanted an SUV and you posted that you would only accept a vehicle at 30mpg or better.
And this quote:
ugh... I don't see how/why anyone would drive anything that doesn't get atleast 25 (if not 30), aside from needing something that large for business purposes.
I learned a lot about both of you that day.
