...keeping in mind that if you choose Bush, Cheney would replace him. ;)

We're not talking about assassination here. Just having the person removed for an undisclosed reason and never heard from again. It can be a politician of any country or anyone on the political scene including commentators and "terrorists."

Bush? Rumsfeld? Rove? Chirac? Biden? Kennedy? Osama? Zarqawi? Moore? Coulter? Whoopi Goldberg? Sheehan? Someone else?

I'm gonna go with Christine Gregoire because she strikes me as "not good" as our governor and I think it would have a big impact around my local area. :)

Maybe Putin. Some, like Hillary or Teddy, are worse but they serve as useful reminders.

Hu Jintao. If China wasn't an oppressive dictatorship before under Jiang Zemin (and it was), his ascension actually has succeeded in making things even WORSE. Everything from personal rights to freedom of speech to Hong Kong's autonomy has been eroding quicker than the stadiums being built in Beijing for 2008. And that's quite a feat.

Hillary...because she has absolutely no business being the senator of my state.

Strictly political figure - Tom DeLay

Unfortunately he would be replaced by someone with the same political ideas that he has. Therefore - the entire Republican Congress has to go. ;)

Currently - DeLay is much more 'dangerous' than Hillary is. He has far far more power to do things - much of which, I will argue, is not good for the country - at least not good for the majority of the American people.

Why? Wasn't she elected with a sizeable percentage of the vote in NY?

Maybe someone worse - if that's possible.

McPain, the guy voted against tax cuts that liberal senators voted for. With him gone, AZ would have a senator who isn't a RINO.

Yes, but since registered democrats outnumber republicans 4 - 1 here, NY would have elected Satan, as long as his politics leaned left. What really bugs me is that she isn't from this state, has no interest in this state, and will completely forget she ever lived here...once she starts after the white house.

I believe the term is 'carpet bagger', and she is the very definition!

Yes, but since registered democrats outnumber republicans 4 - 1 here, Exit poll data from the 2004 General Election Survey indicates that, from a sample of 1387 New York state residents, 48.2% self-identified as Democrats, 26.0% self-identified as Republicans, and 20.4% considered themselves Independents.NY would have elected Satan, as long as his politics leaned left. So, how do you explain Senator D'Amato?

My bad...I thought I had read that statistic somewhere. After further research, dems outnumber repubs 5-to-3 here in NY. Still, a pretty large number to overcome for the repubs.

As for D'Amato, when did he last serve...1998? That was quite a while ago, and states will change their political leanings over the course of a decade.

Mr. Schumer, along with Mr. Leahy, would certainly be at the top of my list, but I think they are both too obvious and easy choices. I'll need some more time to make my pick.

Or Senator Javits before him? Or Governor Pataki? Or Mayors Giuliani/Bloomberg.

New York won't elect many extremely right wing Republicans, but to claim that they elect only dems, and all you have to do to win is be the democratic nominee with a pulse, is BS. Hillary won, get over it.

I believe the correct term is "Senator Pothole."

Anyone who spotted a pot hole outside of their house and made a prompt call to the senator's office would see a repair crew within 48 hours at the site of the blemish.

Anyone who spotted a pot hole outside of their house and made a prompt call to the senator's office would see a repair crew within 48 hours at the site of the blemish. When Senator Moynihan retired, he was the subject of a cover story in The New York Times Sunday magazine. The feature was, as one might expect, quite positive. There was one part which I will always remember, since it was less than complimentary of the good senator - an interviewee, in explaining the differences in tone between the offices of Senators Moynihan and D'Amato, said something to the effect of, "if you wrote to their offices requesting help getting a passport, Senator Moynihan's office would reply with a treatise on the history of the passport office; Senator D'Amato would send you a passport." There's something to be said for constituent services. :)

Which of course prompted howls of outrage from Senator D'Amato's Republican base, since we all know the federal government has no business getting involved in local street repair.

What do you mean there was no outrage?

That's not fair. It's a really tough decision.

Even with Cheney coming through after him, it's still a 50/50 call. :D
