Are white keepcases only used for "kiddie" movies?

I'm trying to think of a non-kid targeted DVD (R1 only) that has a white keepcase.

I can't think of any.

Hey,

That's a coincidence that you ask this -- i just ran across an article about this from CNN.com. Here's a quote:

" (08/12/05) DVD studios have agreed to only use white keepcases for childrens movies in order to maintain a steady flow of postings on dvdtalk.com."

Does that answer your questions?

Later,

Matt

Some people got a white-cased Star Trek VI.

/it's so sad that I, and many others, know this.

Even some Disney stuff that's not animated. Some of it is targeted at kids, say Holes, but others have more general appeal, say the Rookie.

some anime titles come in white cases. but pretty much kids videos uses them the most. my guess is that the white cases are more expensive to source than the black cases, so unless it's requested by the production team, black will be used.

Short Circuit 2, but I'm not sure if it's "kiddy" or not. I'm leaning towards not, but your opinion may vary...

My copy of Queen: Greatest Video Hits #1 came in a white keepcase when I bought it brand new at Sam Goody years ago.

Odd, considering the fact that I've never seen it in a white keepcase anywhere else (it's always in black as is Greatest Video Hits #2).

mine came in black cases. I don't have the "Red Cross" edition maybe that has something to do with it.

My Halloween 25th Anniversary Ed. came in a light gray case. Does that count?

That's possible. I have the "Red Cross" one and they're white.
