I recieved on today's newspaper a weekly ad for Costco with several coupons. One of the coupons is for a buy 1 get 1 free TDK DVD-R or TDK DVD+R 100 disc pack. Price comes up to $43 for both packs. Offer valid from 8/15 - 8/21.

Enjoy!

These are PRINTABLE DVD's also....I will probably spring for 200 discs next week :) Not a bad deal for people with Epson R200/R300 printers

I read on another forum that the +r media is supposedly better quality than the -r media, but I can't remember the media codes and which forum I saw that on.

Paging Buford T. Pusser to thread #433721!

For those that still have their "Summer 2005 Member Passport To Savings", the coupon is in there as well. No pizza coupon this week though.

Plan on picking that up, along with a $4 off marinated pork loin.

Same here. I wish I knew someone who could grab me some of these and let me pay for shipping and something extra!

Media code?

According to a post on fatwallet:

Made in Taiwan, -R is TTG02 and +R is CMC-MAG E01 rev00. (This may vary due to location)

According to digitalfaq: DVD media guide

TTG02 is first class media

CMC-MAG is third class media

... so I had it backwards up above, the -R is the good stuff, the +R is the iffy stuff.

Was someone paging me?

I'm thinking about getting these although Mr. Salty hasn't approved my purchase.

Mrs. Pusser is a fan of the pork. Maybe I'll get one of those too.

I usually get +R discs....I thought those had the best compatability with home DVD palyers...not sure though. I may try -R this time. we'll see

I would go with the -R. Those I've found to be the most compatable.

I've always heard -R have the best compatability.

I'm kinda in the same boat as you, DJ Longfellow. I have always used +r (I can burn either, suppodedly), and my newer DVD player likes those. My older player will usually develop a skip every minute or so.

So do I care? Do I risk and purchase 200 -r, which I haven't tested in my player (or burner for that matter)? Maybe they would work well in BOTH my players.

I may have 198 to sell cheap in a few days.

I always use tdk -r, and not a problem. I'm running low so i may pick these up. Is the $43 the price of both of them together? they usually retail around $80 for a single spindle of 100.

Yup, that's the point 200 for $43.

And I also only use Fuji and TDK. no problems with either..ever.

well, maybe I'll try -R for once....I've always used +R. Maybe one of each if they would let me do that

Does anyone know where to find this coupon online?

DJ_Longfellow
08-12-05, 02:16 PM
The coupon is ONLY available to CostCo members. It's in the passport book they send home every few months. I doubt it will be online.....they will sometimes give you the book at the store.

Picked these up today, and they're the printable white face ones...nice. Thanks OP.

Well, it's probably too late for this now...but today at Costco I saw they had the 50 packs of TDK DVD-Rs for $10.50 each, but it ends today. So it would actually be a better deal for 200 discs ($42) and no coupon is required. And they're the printable ones too.

dx23
08-22-05, 11:40 PM
4 packs of 50 DVDs for $10.50 each = 2 pack of 100 DVDs for $42

4 x 10.50 = 42

don't see the difference unless you wanted less DVDs.

How about you could have picked it up without a coupon?

Y2K Falcon
08-23-05, 10:18 AM
Anybody (with, say, more than 100 posts) still need a pack? I'll give priority to those that posted earlier in the thread... A little heavy to ship, but if you I'm betting "slow boat to china" would be reasonable (What, like maybe $4-5? unless you want to pay the extra for 2 day or something. Who has already sent these to someone, and how much was it?).

I can't justify keeping both, when I still have like 7 unopened packs of the 25's from Staples 6 months ago (still on my first one  ). When I brought them home my wife asked why I bought them, and I said "now I have enough and won't have to buy any more". She replied "that's what you said the last time".

If you need a pack, reply in this thread to claim it, since I can't get email from work. We'll then exchange address/payment info out of the thread.

Oddly enough...a very good (and similar deal) can be found at supermediastore.

Before ordering at Supermediastore check out their coupon/rebate offers. They are currently offering a $7.00 off coupon on TY 4X. That brings the price down to $22.00 per 100. Unbelievable price.

And you're guaranteed to get TY discs. I'm not sure if TDK is TY or not.

Do you have a link to that coupon? I didn't see it on their website anywhere...TIA!

And the TDK -R spindles that Costco had on sale are TTG02 (made in Taiwan)

Here's a question...how do they rate them? the materials used to make them?

Hmm.. I would think something sorta like the end of Disclosure. Inferior conditions.
