Fox announced 2 new HD channels yesterday....
HD National Geographic Channel and "Fox HD", which will show programming from several Fox channels and FX!
Man, if they could have this by next year for the new seasons of The Shield and Rescue Me!

The best part is that you'll likely be screwed, as they are saying these might be DirecTV exclusives for the time being.

That's okay. Besides the issue that I doubt they would air the F/X originals simultaneously, I'd rather have uncensored Howard Stern anyhow.
Also, from what I've heard, DTV's HD offerings leave a lot to be desired.

Anyway, yes, the HD is lacking on DirecTV. However, that is because they are converting to MPEG-4, and there are bandwidth issues w/ launching more channels. Supposedly ESPN-2 will be on of, if not the last, addition to the HD before the rollout of the new stuff.

That's the one I've been waiting for since they do a good number of college hoops games in HD. I think Comcast has plans to add it because there is an empty channel right after ESPNHD in the program guide.
