That's awesome!
I remember back during that time seeing people on the news buying a dozen meals at a time to get beanies. Now they're about a buck each.

With all the craziness happening back in 1999, I can't believe Overstock even has any to sell 6 years later. Someone at McDonald's must have found a full box in the far corner of a warehouse or something.

I saw some beanies at a Hallmark store a few days ago. So, someone is still buying these things.

Hilarious. I remember when these came out and people were eating at McDonald's every day so they could get the whole set. One woman I worked with got the full set and proudly declared "This is my daughter's college fund!"

I guess she's going to be home-schooled now! ;)
Lisa: There's no way I'll get into an ivy league school now. At this rate I probably won't even get into Vassar.
Homer: I've had just about enough of your Vassar-bashing, young lady!

My wife was into these things back in the heyday, buying up anything and everything that she found that was "retired" by Ty. I said that they weren't worth anything boxed up and stored in the basement. So, she pull a small handful from her collection and sold them for a tremendous amount of money to shut me up (3 dino beanies for $1800, a butterfly for $1200, a bumblebee for $800, and a few others). Now I consider it a harmless hobby (this was many years ago, I realize they are worthless or near worthless now).
