Stargate:Alliance nixed for now!
Just glanced over a Gamespot and found this post.

It's really sad since a game like this could have great potential. I don't understand since schedule release wasn't until this Nov. or Dec. which is still a ways off. The screen shots looked like they had something going. From what I remember I think they said there were like 60 people working on this. I was really looking forward to this coming out.

Honestly, from what I saw I am glad they cancelled it. I'm a Stargate fan, and with such a huge potential, I want a game that measures up to the series name. With so many craptacular Star Wars and Star Trek games, it might be a good thing that this series be put on hold until a developer can do it justice.

However, I can see the appeal of the general concept for a game.

Looks like the game is back on track for a first quarter release. Too bad there is no mention of a 360 port or BC yet. It would look stunning on the 360.
It is in the Alpha (testing for bugs) stage.

If that's the case who picked it up? The bunch that was doing it had it taken away due to problems and the game wasn't advancing along fast enough. I'm sure it'll be ported to the 360 and the pc for a fact. I just hope they use the Unreal engine. Maybe there's hope after all.

Don't mind me the fanboy, but:
Did anyone else think they were going to underutilize gating in the game?
Not that it really matters now, but I think if I were creating a Stargate game, I'd have a pretty sweet multiplayer with mutiple maps and gating so that it'd have more a search and destroy/stealth/teamwork gameplay than pure FPS.
Just my opinion though.
