With comedies you can understand wanting to watch certain episodes again, but with dramas (especially with shows with season long arcs), its a tad harder to watch certain shows over
i'd say the ones with high rewatchablity are
sopranos (mainly because its only 13 episodes a season)

I disagree. With comedies, I rarely want to see them again unless they're truly great. With dramas, however, I can watch them many times, especially shows with long season arcs. It takes more effort, but it's also more rewarding. Obviously, Babylon 5 is the first thing to come to mind in this category.

Buffy, Angel & Xena are at the top for me. In the comedy department Family Guy, Futurama and Beavis & Butthead are great to rewatch.

I actually just started watching Xena from the beginning about 4 months ago with a family member who once again forced me to give a show I had little interest in my complete & undivided attention (it helps to have your own dark home theater). So, it's one of the more recent shows that I've discovered. I didn't really think I could get into it because of the cheesiness (based on viewing parts of random episodes in the past). Little did I know that episode by episode that cheesiness/campiness would eventually become a part of what I loved and appreciated about the show, along with the great characters and ability to do great drama when the time called for it. It can be campy, funny, action packed, adventurous, over the top and can also do drama as well as any show out there. I loved that about it (plus, I love the two lead characters). I got hooked in season 2 and there was no turning back (much like with Buffy). It's just a really easy show to get lost in once you get into the two great lead characters. It's a really easy show to rewatch again, especially if I'm watching with someone who hasn't seen much of it before.

I'm now going through the entire six season series of Xena for a second time with my best friend. We're now just a few episodes into season 3. Watching it with an interested friend makes rewatching it just as good or maybe even better the second time around. One thing's for sure, I don't let my projector and 10ft screen go to waste.

I have rewatched the following many times and will likely rewatch them all again:

Firefly, Alias, Nip/tuck, The Shield, ER, CSI, Rescue me, Party of five, Sopranos and I'm about to watch Buffy and Angel all the way through again sometime soon.

Also, the procedurals replay very well.

As for the dramas with a serial format, it is kind of random for me. I get replay value out of Nip/tuck, Rescue Me, Oz, Sopranos, and The West Wing. However, I have little desire to watch The Shield or Deadwood or American Dreams again - at least at this point in time.

although that's more like a great, great movie than a TV series. (I know it's a miniseries...)

And, although it's been mentioned a million times, Angel is made for rewatching. It gets richer each time.

X-Files, arc-wise, I've actually found doesn't hold up all that well. The best stand-alones, however, (particularly the darren morgan ones) can be watched a infinite number of times.

Have to agree with X-files. There are enough great monster-of-the-week episodes to make it enjoyable without getting tied down in the mytharc.

Band of Brothers as well.

I've watched season one of 24 almost 3 full times, season 2 twice and will be going through season 3 for a second time as soon as I have some spare cash to pick it up.

Just finished watching the first 2 seasons of OZ back to back. It's certainly addictive on first viewing. I'm ready to go out and buy season 3.

I'm way behind on Oz. I have the first 5 seasons on DVD. I watched it on HBO from S4 on. I'm about half-way through S2 on DVD.

Of all the TV shows I own, I'd have to say that The Sopranos has the highest rewatchability factor for me.

(Arrested Development - although it's only 1 season - is up there as well.)
