Arcade Game Challenge #44 - Fighting for truth, justice, and the American way

In these threads we play arcade games that are emulated on PCs, and compete for the highest score.
You have to take care of finding the games yourself.
Click here for the list of all the past winners and high scores.

The Rules (always a work in progress):
  1. To enter, you just play one of the games and post a screenshot with your score.
  2. Once all the games have a score, the deadline to post any new scores will be 72 hours after the last screenshot is posted.
  3. The winner can pick any game that we haven't already played for the next thread. Don't forget to pick a new game, or I'll do it for you!
  4. Any games should be played with one credit and no continues or any features not on the actual machine.
  5. If you play and beat any of the high scores from the previous games we've played, you can submit them for the All Time Top Scores.

The Games:
(click the games for info and how to play)

Buster Bros. - Score to beat: Roto 234550

Current Leader Chooses: Circus Charlie

Darius - Score to beat: IgnatusReilyII 1352810

Current Leader Chooses: Krull

Superman - Score to beat: IgnatiusReilyII 614700

Current Leader Chooses: Kicker

Toobin' - Score to beat: D300 1235915

Current Leader Chooses: Asteroids Deluxe

The Prize:
Whoever gets the high score for one of the current games picks the next game that replaces it. You also get your name engraved permanently etched onto this eye catching trophy with a genuine Sharpie!

The Champs:

There is nothing on tv tonight. This game is the opposite of Dragon Breed. Lots of extra guys to be had. My 2nd best score was about 1/3 of this.

Try to get through all the gates cleanly to multiply the score. Unfortunately this game gives two huge bonuses of 600,000 for warping twice, which are easy to get on the right side of the screen. I prefer playing the game without the warps, because it gets too hard after warping.

Well, you shouldn't have posted the warp score then, not that anyone will beat your first score. Get through all the gates cleanly? Get real!

Just a heads up: If someone posts a Superman score pretty soon, this could be a short thread.

OK, I think that I am going to have to put MAME back on my computer so I can play Buster Bros. I used to love that game!

I have to reiterate, after trying to play Toobin' last night, getting through all the gates cleanly is the most ridiculous thing anybody's said here.

Every game has a score now. The current deadline for this thread is Sunday morning unless another score gets posted.

So what exactly is the difference between Asteroids and Asteroids Deluxe besides one being blue?

There's a shield instead of hyperspace and triangular things that chase your ship. Everything is harder and faster than the original. If you don't want to play it, then try to get through all the gates cleanly on Toobin

What he said...! The deluxe version was Atari's answer to people who would protect one tiny asteroid, play for hours (or even days in some cases), and rack up huge points. This is MUCH harder to do in ASTEROIDS DELUXE (although the original is still the best, IMHO).

By the way, what the heck was the marketing department thinking with that DARIUS flyer???

And speaking of...

Is the deadline practically up? I forgot to give you my choices: KRULL (since we just did TRON) and KICKER (aka SHAO-LIN'S ROAD).

Yeah, the deadline is tomorrow afternoon; 72 hours after your last Superman score. I was hoping you'd forget and we'd play Hangman I'm not reminding anybody to pick games anymore. If someone forgets to pick we go with whatever was last chosen.
