Best Jodie Foster performance?

Just wondering what everyone on the board thinks is the best performance of my favorite actress. My vote is split between Contact and Silence of the Lambs.

She's had some good roles but this one is a no-brainer.

I think she did a better job in The Accused than she did in SOTL.

while The Accused might come close.....it still doesn't quite beat SotL for me.

The Accused

Silence would be a close second though.

Agreed. Love both performances though, but I give the edge to The Accused.

My favorite is Maverick. I don't really care too much for the other movies. Never was too big on the Hannibal Lector movies.

It's a tossup between SOTL and The Accused.

Nell is by far her worst performance on that list. Good God I hated that movie.

weird, I thought this poll would be a "gimme" for Contact... guess I was wrong. I thought she played GREAT off of Tom Skerritt and John Hurt. In fact, how about a SE of this movie, anyone?

David Drumlin: I know you must think this is all very unfair. Maybe that's an understatement. What you don't know is I agree. I wish the world was a place where fair was the bottom line, where the kind of idealism you showed at the hearing was rewarded, not taken advantage of. Unfortunately, we don't live in that world.

Ellie Arroway: Funny, I've always believed that the world is what we make of it.

What, no Foxes?!

Seriously, it was nearly a toss-up betwen Lambs and The Accused, with Contact also in the running. I finally went with Lambs, probably because I haven't seen The Accused in quite awhile so my memory of it is not very fresh.

I vote for Silence of the Lambs. I think she's great in The Accused. But the movie is just not as good as Silence of the Lambs.

Putting aside my bias for favorite movies she was in and just judging her on acting merit alone:

Nell
The Little Girl Who Lives Down The Lane.
