My Zeppelin compilation, what do you think?

Well, I finally got around to buying the Zeppelin box set (here's a pic of the one I bought because there are about 3 or 4 of them):

Now obviously we create compliations based one what we listen to the most and our favorites so here are my top choices on three discs:

Disc one:

In my time of dying
Houses of the holy
Misty mountain hop
Traveling riverside blues
Dancing days
Nobody’s fault but mine
How many more times
Whole lotta love
Bring it on home
Blackdog
When the levee breaks
Bron-y-aur-stomp

Disc 2

Thank you
Hey hey what can I do
What is and what should never be
The rain song
Friends
Your time is gonna come
Tangerine
Over the hills and far away
The battle of evermore
Black country Woman
Going to California
Stairway to heaven
Kashmir

Disc 3

Heartbreaker
Living loving maid
Immigrant song
Rock and Roll
Communication breakdown
Ramble on
The lemon song
Poor tom
The ocean
Moby dick
Four sticks
Custard pie
The rover
South bound saurez

The first disc are my favorite "fast" songs with the second being my favorite "slow" songs and third disc contains all the songs I don't listen to as much as the others.

So what do you think? Care to list yours?

Where is "Since I've Been Loving You", "Dazed and Confused", "You Shook Me", "I Can't Quit You Baby".

Those are my favorite bluesy slow songs they do. Especially SIBLY

yay, you have my favorite zep song on your cd first! (in my time of dying)
you need some latter stuff also. archillies last stand is a powerhouse 10 minute rock epic. also, "all of my love" and "fool in the rain", "trampled underfoot" are also essential.

I actually prefer the "live at the bbc" version of this song.

At least you don't have "the crunge" on there. I hate that song.

Has anyone seen the bridge? Where's that confounded bridge?!

The only song on Houses of the Holy I don't like.

Yep, In my time of dying is my all time fav zep song as well.

Achillies last stand - no thank you, It's just decent to me.

All of my love and fool in the rain - I have to be honest here, I don't really dig either of them. I don't know if it's because when I was younger and the radio played them way too much or if it's because they just never clicked with me.

The crunge - yeah, I hear ya.

Since I've Been Loving You, Dazed and Confused, You Shook Me, I Can't Quit You Baby - good songs just don't listen to them often.

Trampled under foot - it's good but not good enough to make my cut

Good to see the often overlooked Tangerine.

I knew I'd get some flack for "That's the way" I originally had it on there but sacrificed it for another un-announced selection

Weird. I am doing the exact same thing right now with my Zeppelin set. I found myself never listening to it and finally decided to make a compilation.

I am only thru IV aka Signs at this time. I will post mine when I am done.

Okay...as I was going thru my Zeppelin collection I got to Presence. I noticed that I really only listened to Led Zeppelin I thru Houses of the Holy and never went any further as a teen-ager or even in college. I bought the complete boxset because I got it for a good price at the time (way back in '94 or so) but have never given any real listens to Presence thru Coda.

Anyone know these later albums well enough to give suggestions as to highlights that I should realy tune in for. Presence hasn't really done much for me and I am afraid it will likely be the same for the remaining albums.

There is something to be said about the second disc: Boogie With Stu, Ten Years Gone, etc..

In Through The Out Door has a few good songs but a lot of Zeppelin fans despise the album due to it sounding like they were out of energy and being too soft/commercial

Some of my faves not mentioned:
The Rover
The Wanton Song
I believe Presence has been treated unfairly as a not up to par Zep album. I bought it when first released and was disappointed. Didn't really listen to it again until 5 or 6 years later and discovered there is some really good stuff on it. Tea For One has become one my favorite Zep songs. First rate Zep blues with haunting lead by Jimmy. ("Every minute seem like a lifetime") Whatever you make think of Coda, Wearing and Tearing ROCKS!!!
