I'm looking to upgrade the RAM on my HP laptop to 1gb. Probably just go with 2 512mb sticks. I need 512mb 333MHz DDR SDRAM. Any suggestions on where I should get it from? Thanks.

Try zipzoomfly.com they usually have good prices and offer free 2nd day air. Also check on pricewatch.com for comparing prices on pc stuff, I've found many great deals with them.

ylomnstr, I've used them (18004memory.com, also known as Coast to Coast Memory) a lot in the past, mainly at Computer Shows here in NJ. Very professional and they always stand by what they sell, no questions asked. Always tested the chips right in front of me at the time of purchase. Never gave me any hassle on the rare occasions that I had to return or exchange some RAM.

For better or worse, I just bought some off eBay. The exact same memory set that Dell was selling for $1100, I bought for under $300. We'll see how that works out. I know so little about memory stuff, but I couldn't find anyone else that even sold compatible memory for my older Dimension 8200 (400 FSB) computer. Here's what I bought:
1GB (2*512MB) - Rambus PC800, 184-pin RDRAM RIMM 800 - 45 ECC 45ns - Samsung OEM - new and tested

Another vote for crucial. Fast shipping, prices a little higher, but as the other poster said, they gaurantee it will work.

I really recommend http://www.4allmemory.com
Just log on with the computer you need RAM for, and they'll tell you exactly what you have, what you can buy, and you just add it in your cart.
And their customer service is excellent too. Get a bum stick? They'll send out a new one before you ship the bum one back. And they pay for all the shipping.
