Oddly enough I have been thinking that all of the deals from a few years ago have vanished. CDRs are no longer five bucks for a pack of fifty or anything like that.
I've been waiting for a good price on TDK's for awhile (label goes well with a car CD visor).
Sorry, not much help here, just look at the sales ads.
There are some legacy CDRs 100@$10. How are these?

I, too, would be interested in this...

You know, I was also just thinking the same thing. I知 down to my last 5 or so CD-Rs and have been looking at ads, looking for the 50 for $5 deals or 50 free after rebate deals that used to be everywhere. There痴 lots of sales on DVD-Rs, but not CD-Rs.
Here痴 what I致e found for this week (the week ending July 30 '05):
Office Max:
50 pack of 52x Memorex for $9.99 (after $10 instant rebate)
100 pack of 52x Memorex for $19.99 (after $20 instant rebate).
Best Buy:
50 pack of 52x Memorex for $12.59 .
Circuit City:
100 pack of 52x Verbatim for $12.99 (after $7 savings)
50 pack of 52x Phillips for $12.99 (after $7 savings)
100 pack of 52x Phillips for $19.99 (after $20 savings).
I think I値l take a look at the Verbatim and Phillips from Circuit City, if they were made in Japan I値l buy them, else I値l wait for another sale.

Nice site!
The 35-pack of Fuji disks with slim cases for $9.97 at Staples also looks like a decent sale, especially if you don't have extra cases laying around.

Depends. Are they Japan or Taiwan?

What's the diff?
Quality. Of course, I'm basing this on a review I read from the late '90s; it's quite possible that factories in other countries have caught up quality-wise. But since I've been happy with Japanese made CD-Rs, I'm not going to change.
I cant speak for the quality as I havent opened them yet. But 100 for $10 shipped aint bad.
edit-seems they dont have free shipping anymore. shipping is $4 now.

The last CD-R deal I found was in the oddest place: Blockbuster. I was in there picking up Lego Star Wars and looked over and there's 2 25-packs of Memorex CD-R's for $1.99 each. Needless to say I snatched up both. Honestly I wonder how they weren't snatched up by an employee first.

FYE has a 50 pack of Fuji for $14.99 with a $5 & a $10 rebate. They're made in Taiwan, but almost free so I got a pack. Not sure how long they're $14.99, but the $5 rebate says you have to buy them by 8-10 & mail by 9-10.

I was just at Office Max yesterday, intending to buy the 50 pack of Hypermedia CD-Rs on sale for $7, but instead picked up a 100 pack of Imation CD-Rs for $12. They weren't with all the rest of the CD-Rs, but on a clearance end cap. They also had Memorex DVD-Rs (50 for $20, 100 for $35). Not sure if every store will have them in stock, but worth a shot.

I bought the Legacy cdrs from newegg about a month ago. I'm 1/4 through the 100-disc spindle and no coasters yet.. They seem arite if you don't care about the lack of label/graphics on the top of the cd-r. =p

Circuit City as 50 packs of TDK CD-R for $7.98 after rebate.
Staples has a 100 pack of Sony brand CD-R for $18.94, I assume there's a mail in rebate involved.

I'm going to check out that TDK offer after work. How are their CD-R's supposed to be?

I like them. I said in the other post from awhile ago that I like to use them for mp3's in the car since the label is on the side which fits nicely with the car visor. Yes I know that is a stupid reason, but regardless they work well. Never had a coaster that I can think of.
I thought the deal was without a rebate?

Anyone find a deal on inkjet printable CD-Rs? I've noticed there are white and silver printable surfaces. Any thoughts on which works best?

What about these Riteks (http://www.supermediastore.com/ritek-52x-cdr-blank-media-white-inkjet-hub-printable-100pk.html?WT.mc_id=050823superdvdonly) at Supermedia store? I've heard Ritek is good.
BTW, the sale expires today (25th) and I think the shipping is close to $8 which makes the package $23 and each disc $.23 each.

I'd definitely get two of them...wonder what the quality is. I don't want to bite unless i'm sure. I usually only get TY discs.

I used to stick mainly with TY's but I've had a spindle of the Ritek's for a bit, and haven't had a single coaster - the quality is very nice...just under TY if not on par. I have a bunch of Ritek DVD-R as well, and they can't be beat for compatibility...

I did some research and found nothing but good things said about later generation cd-r's from Ritek so ended up picking up 200 :) Really needed some so this sale was perfect for me. THANKS!
