Degrassi: The Next Generation -- The Jay and Silent Bob Edition

http://tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=3759

As per tvshowsondvd.com:

FUNimation has sent us some information on Jay and Silent Bob Do Degrassi, a new title that has a lot of people talking. Kevin Smith is a huge Degrassi fan, and jumped at the opportunity to appear on the series in a three-episode arc. FUNimation is releasing the disc in two versions; rated, and unrated (wooohooo!).
Snoogans! What are Jay and Silent Bob doing in Canada? Rewind. what are they doing at Degrassi?

Spoiler:
One major perk to being a director is that you can live out your fantasies. Kevin Smith's fantasy? To be featured in a three episode arc of Degrassi: The Next Generation! And to kiss his long-time TV crush Caitlyn Ryan of course...

Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes (Clerks... nuff said) head north to film their next movie "Jay and Silent Bob Go Canadian, Eh?" But when a couple of locations bail, Kevin takes his plea to the media. Soon, the solution becomes crystal clear... film at a school! And what school could be better than Degrassi? But drama ensues even before the cameras begin to roll.
The unrated edition contains a totally unrated version of the episodes ( an unrated Degrassi?!?).

Here's the info for the unrated version ($24.98 SRP - only $17.49 from Amazon):
Kevin Smith Exclusive Interview
Commentary by Kevin Smith, Jason Mewes, Stacie Mistysyn and writer Erin Martin
Five Minutes of Integrated Footage, Not Seen Anywhere
Reel Footage: The Canadian Ninja Scene
Bloopers
Extended/Deleted Scenes
Jay and Silent Bob Photo Album
Degrassi Photo Album

Jay & Silent Bob are terrible, one-note jokes that only stoners laugh at. They're *****ing clown shoes. If they were real, I'd beat the sh*t out of them.

All you motherfuckers are gonna pay. You are the ones who are the ball-lickers. jay & Silent Bob are gonna fuck your mothers while you watch and cry like little bitches. Once they get to Hollywood and find those Miramax fucks who are making that movie, they're gonna make you eat their shit, then shit out their shit, then eat your shit which is made up of their shit that they made you eat. Then you're all you motherfucks are next.

Wow. I really really love Degrassi, but not enough to purchase a Jay and Silent Bob product.

Well knowing the level of tragedy that occurs on Degrassi, there's always the chance that Jay will be shot by the school nerd or Silent bob will get a "social disease". That might be worth checking out.

I think The Dukes looks like a lot of fun. The Jay & Bob Degrassi arc looks like garbage.

Wow. I really really love Jay and Silent Bob , but not enough to purchase a Degrassi product.

I actually saw these episodes from downloading them from a bit torrent. They had some funny moments, but without the swearing and filth, its just not Jay & Silent Bob. Kevin Smith isn't even playing himself. He's playing a SINGLE Kevin Smith who has a thing for the one woman on the show.

Alanis Morrisette as the school principal was pretty funny though.

Bigger cover image and trailer HERE

I can't remember; does it count as threadcrapping when you haven't even seen the thing described within the thread upon which you're crapping?

Any 'Degrassi' fan should be glad they're doing this appearance, since it's resulted in a ridiculous amount of publicity for the show. (At least, in America; I assume it's bigger in Canada than it is here.)

That said, I hope 'CSI' follows suit and releases a stand-alone of the Tarantino episode.

Actually she was playing herself... playing the teacher/principal character in the movie Kevin is shooting at the school.
