Some Image titles (including the newer Twilight Zone box sets -original and 85-89 series, Combat! and Saved by the Bell) are on sale @ DDD for what appears to be 20% off. Get 'em for the same price as they were during the last sale (except for the newest TZ which hadn't been released), until 7/29/05.

Crud. I had just (and by "just", I mean about half an hour ago) added I Claudius to my wish list in preparation for the next 20% off sale, not realizing the price showing was a temporary sale price.

hmm, how good a price is that on the TZ 80's sets? Price looks decent according to the price search, but is this a really smoking price?? Im cheap, and im patient. $40 just seems high for a season set of anything. Then again, i dont want to miss the boat like I have on the TZ definative set 1 with the book (which is tough to find now)

hmm, how good a price is that on the TZ 80's sets?Season 1 is exactly the same price as during the 20% off sale.

EDIT: OP thanks for the heads-up! Just to clarify... the TZ 'definitive' sets are actually about $6 more than they were during the 20% off sale.

Fry's has some of them in-store in the last week here I saw - so they may still be around - but probably not at the DDD price though. So you will have to decide how much the book is worth to you. Also, I just remembered that someone, somewhere in these forums mentioned that the book is also available separately -- soooo - you could get the good deal on S1 and get the book whereever. Maybe get it at Borders (recent thread around here about in-store 30% off any 1 book, CD or DVD - good thru 7/24). It will probably end up costing more to get them separately but atleast if you are that interested in getting the book as well, you will have it too.

Confirmed: I paid $52.79 for S2, it's currently $58.51.

Damn, those Combat! sets look mighty enticing, as well as the Jess Franco collection, the Treasures From American Film set, and the Naked City set. I need TZ S3 as well.

Yeah, I sooo didn't need to see this thread.

Another option for getting The Twilight Zone: Season 1 (1985-1986) is to pick it up at (of all places!) Borders. They have it regularly priced at $56.99 and with the current 30%-off coupon, it drops the price to $39.89. See this (http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=431149) thread for more details. Hurry, the coupon expires 7/24.

Given the list price, I'm waiting it out, thinking the NB collection might end up being the same price or slightly cheaper during the next 20% off sale (after discount).

Thanks for the head's up!

As usual, I bought all those films individually for $20 each when they first came out. Same with the Ed Wood Box.

Once you get to the DDD homepage, this particular sale is the top ad on the right (under "New Releases", "Upcoming Releases", and "Featured Titles"). I don't know how to dvdtalkify the link to the sale listing pages, only to the individual items.

I just couldn't get it out of mind how much fun I had watching the Combat! season 1 sets. I broke down and ordered all the rest of them (seasons 2,3 & 4 and preordered 5). What the heck, it's a good deal.
