..exactly how do you pronounce his last name? I've always said "boo-SHAY-me", and my wife insists it's "boo-SEE-me".
Are either of us right?

bu-seh-me (pardon my lack of phenetic spelling skills)
I heard Michael Bay say his name like that in commentaries. I think that's where I first learned how to say it.

That's right. I remember years ago it came up in an interview he did (I think for Movieline or Filmmaker). It's funny because other than Bay most of the directors he's worked with mispronounce it "boo-SHEM-ee", even the Coens.

I remember him introducing himself at an anniversary observance for 9/11 (he's a former member of the FDNY) and he pronounced it:
boo-SEHM-ee
... he didn't use the "SH" sound on the second syllable. I remember it because at the time I had always heard it pronounced "boo-SHEM-ee".

"boo-SEE-me"
That's how I've already said it, and until he personally tells me different, that's what I'm sticking with. ;)
