Haven't seen this with its own thread, but it may have been posted in response to Gamestop's B2G1F threads. The ad paper in the store has fine print that lists the sale as lasting through the end of July.

Last night's buys:
$14.99 Million Dollar Baby (3-disc edition)
$14.99 Hostage
FREE Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (Season 5)

L&O: SVU was priced at $9.99.

EB's DVD pricing is really erratic, as the OP has demonstrated. Sometimes, crappy 9.99 MGM movies are priced at 14.99 used, but at the same time, I snagged a Fantasia Anthology box there for 14.99 as well. Who the hell knows with those people.

Wow, even SVU season 5 for $10 is a good deal. Is this online as well?

It's the same thing with Stargate at EB. I picked up season 7 for $12.

Of course Gamestop has the same thing happen occasionally. Usually it's because the disc comes up as an unknown UPC in their computer. If that happens, it's valued at $9.99 no matter what it is. That's how my friend got one of the MST3K collections for $10.

Sometimes, you're really lucky and they enter items as "Used R/NC-17/Unrated." No matter what the title, it scans at 5.99 or 2/$10.

I got Murder One: Season 1, Vera Drake, and Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers once for a total of $9 plus tax. Each was tagged $5.99, so it came to two for $10, plus one free, minus 10% Game Informer discount.

The EB Games in my area recently started selling used CDs too, and the ones that don't scan are priced at $1.99. I picked up Pink Floyd's "Pulse" this way, normally a $30 album. I love Gamestop and EB Games; they are my favorite stores and I don't even own any new videogame systems!

Yeah, the 5.99 price worked for me with Man Bites Dog, Schizopolis, Eyes Without a Face, and Magic Flute Criterions. I love Game Stop!

Although this thread is for EB Games, but yeah, they're pretty much the same.

The only Criterion I've ever found at an EB was Silence of the Lambs, and it was priced at $12.99, I believe. I've found several Criterions at GameStops though, and they've ranged from $5.99 to $12.99. Still not a bad deal, and I love the ignorance of their company and employees when it comes to dvds.
