that's what i was trying to find out. but if its anything like a normal coupon, it doesn't expire until 2015 b/c when a CSR gave me two store credits in the form of a coupon, it didn't expire until 2015

I signed up on the 12th and nothing yet. :( I emailed them about it on 7/13 and they dug up an old order from 8/04 to say that I had a 10% coupon applied to that. When I responded telling them that my question was about the $10 credit for signing up for overstock auctions, and that at no point did I reference an old order, I got no response. 48 hours later, and still no response to my second email. I just sent them a third. Damn it - I want to use this for harry potter! :mad:

I signed up a few days ago and no 10 dollar off coupon. So I went to the livechat thing. Basically, it seemed like they had not applied the coupon, but she told me some story about how I already had a coupon on my account (10% of 1000 <- ridiculous story) and I had to spend it first. So I informed her how ridiculous it was, and somehow or another she finally asked me for a link to the 10 dollar off coupon and finally she applied it to my account, after about 20 minutes of chatting about it.

after waiting the 5 day period for the coupon to appear and e-mailing overstock, Torren in live chat helped me get the coupon. he said it was there, just not showing up. picked up race with the devil and tales from the crypt for $17.85 after coupon. the deal made even sweeter by using a rebate site for an extra 3% cash back and payment made from my paypal balance that was just sitting there. thanks overstock and op for posting the deal!

i don't think its a popup. i'm not that technical in programming but i think its some sort of java embedded window that comes up. (i've seen it with some ads on yahoo for example)

regardless, the discount should still show up once they place an order.

i got the $10 credit no problem (after I CALLED, and then CALLED AGAIN only to be told that for some reason I had another coupon in the system first so they had to delete that one in order for the $10 credit to come up).

Then I find out that I can't use the coupon yet because of their $1 shipping discount they have going right now. So basically I have to wait until the shipping discount is over.

What I don't get is that it seems like this should be a CREDIT, not a COUPON...but it seems like it's a coupon for me.

EDIT: Ok, now the coupon doesn't show up at all in my account. It magically disappeared again. This is the worst site ever, no wonder they're just giving away $10.

EDIT2: Called once again and the CSR said the coupon changed to $0 for some reason, he fixed it and i made sure to do the order while he was still on the phone.

He asked me to wait while he looked over the offer. He asked me for my name & address to verify who I was. He said he didn't know why it didn't apply but he would do it for me manually. I discussed this with Miriam in livechat. She said all credits appear in their system as coupons, and that they cannot be stacked. The reason mine didn't appear was that there was a $1 coupon and a $2.95 coupon "in line" ahead of the $10 credit, so she removed the first two coupons, and I kept arguing with her about why the shipping should be free (there is a code earlier in this thread) because neither offer says you can't have both at the same time. She was able to place the order for me with free shipping and the $10 credit (so much for not being able to use two offers at once- I kept telling her I knew people it worked for, and she was eventually able to make it work). It did take about 40 minutes of back and forth (most of that was her trying to place harry potter for me, but they kept running out of stock while trying to place the order). I have no idea if she reapplied the first two credits after my order was placed like she said she would, but it was such a hassle I probably won't buy from them again anyway.

Same scenario as me - I signed up on Thursday, and called up on Saturday when I didn't receive it. The CSR applied the $10 to my account, in which I got a vertical PS2 stand, among other things. I had to get back in touch with CS (Misti this time) to get my $10 coupon restored. After she put it back onto my account it kept thinking I wanted free shipping and deleted the coupon again even if in the cart it showed it. I couldn't get it to go through correctly so Misti had to actually put the order in for me.
