alive by kitamura: any good?

has anyone seen this by the director of versus and azumi?

any good??

its the best of the kitamura movies. that said, if you liked Azumi, then you might find something in all of them... most comments seem to say Alive has led to to watch others but they have all been pretty disappointing. theres a USA disc of 'ultimate versus' due sometime later this year (october i think).

Well let me confuse things some by saying that I didn't like Alive, but liked Versus, Azumi, and Aragami. The consensus seems to be that if you like Alive you won't like his other films and vice-versa. I thought Alive really dragged and there's not much happening for the 1st hour and a half. Nice atmosphere but too much character detail and too little action for my taste. Perhaps I was expecting something similar to Versus or Azumi and this just threw me off. I plan to give it another shot though and approach it like I would approach films like Dark City or City of Lost Children, instead of a pure actioner.
