Finally, and surprisingly...THE OBLONGS!

Well, this one seemed to come out of nowhere. Best Buy is offering the complete series (13 whole under-appreciated episodes!) as a BB exclusive this week, for $29.99. I'm a big fan and have been waiting for quite a while for this to debut. Never thought it would happen, and now here it is. Here are some details...

* It's an Oblong World: The show's concept, characters and casting
* The Art of the Oblongs: Angus Oblong-guided tour of his original artwork for the series
* An Oblong Picture Book: Angus Oblong drawings gallery

Best Buy linkage.

Any other fans of this incredibly strange and controversial show? Will you be buying now at full retail, or waiting for other more reasonable stores to carry it?

I'd like to get it, but I'll probably wait for the full release later this year. There isn't a Best Buy near me (that I know of) and I don't feel like ordering it from their site (no account and I don't care to sign up for one).

29.99 is a bit steep. I know this isn't an official Adult Swim release, but I'd pay what I tend to pay for the other AS releases, which is 20.00-25.00, or hopefully lower.

I imagine I'll wait too, maybe even till I find a used set. It's not a killer app for me, but there are some damn_funny moments that would make the set worth having.

Not a fan of this show, but maybe there's a chance we'll be seeing Mission Hill now in the future.

Is this getting a more feature-laden release later on? The Oblongs was never a big hit so I'd assume this is all its gonna get.

I'm hoping Mission Hill gets a release soon, that's also a WB property so I'd even settle for a BB exclusive.

Bummer they will have to change some of the music. As long as they replace it with something that fits the show (good alternative music in the same time frame the show was created in) and they don't delete any scenes to cut music, I will be good.

I like The Oblongs, but I'm not going to go along with Best Buy gouging me just because they have it as an exclusive. I'll wait for 3 more months and watch my downloaded episodes if I'm that desperate for the show. I'll buy it through Deep Discount.
