Four Track to Computer
This might be a "tech" question.
I have a TASCAM 4 Track. I fool around and make covers and original stuff and would like to put them on CD. How would I be able to transfer them to the computer, making them WAVs or MP3's, then being able to burn them?
The 4 track has a RED/WHITE OUT and a HEADPHONE OUT. Please recommend me a hopefully free/cheap program that could help out. Also, please don't say hold the speakers to the comp. mic. I've tried, it doesnt work that well!
Thanks for looking.

Depends on your sound card. Does it have a line in, or just a mic in? If it has a line in, you're in luck. Go to radio shack and get a cable that has two RCA plugs on one end and a stereo 1/8" phono plug on the other. Plug the RCA into the TASCAM and the phono into the line in on the sound card.
For software I use SoundForge, which is most definitely NOT free. There's got to be some free .wav editing software around somewhere, however.
