SA-CD set up help...

So last night I finally got around to getting my SA-CD compatible DVD player (Sony DVP-NS775V) set up and I was hoping some of you could help me with some preliminary questions...

First, I am to understand the SA-CD signal DOES NOT come out of the digital audio output, so, I currently have an additional RCA (red/white) coming out of the audio out from my DVD player into a seperate input on the reciever.

Now, my reciever is set up for 5.1 sound, however...are SA-CD's supposed to be multi-channel 5.1 surround? I figured not, but read a review of Dark Side of the Moon SACD earlier that mentioned it was mixed in 5.1:

"James Guthrie, the sound engineer responsible for the new 5.1 mix of the album, found a way to succeed where there were ten thousand ways to fail."

I listened to it last night, and despite sounding outstanding, it was not using the rear speakers...I was just wondering if it should be, why its not, or if I even have this set up right...the manual with my DVD player does not help me any, and was hoping some smart cat around here would know the answers...

thanks in advance

SA-CD does not pass digitally out of the player. The player decodes to analog and you need to set up the analog connections for all the channels (six of them) from the player to the receiver to hear the full SA-CD track.
