CSI Season 2 $34.99 at Amazon.com

I got it from craven_fiend at CAG, who got it from Mash at TGN (somebody pass the penicillin).

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...A2ZNL/dvdtalk/

Listed as a preorder? for August 9th (maybe a manufacturer price drop?).

Not to add insult to injury, but a few weeks ago eCost clearanced S4 for $26.99 +S&H (they did charge H, so it was more like $31 + shipping). Sorry you missed it.

As with pretty much anything on amazon, until it sells out or they decide to change it.

Thanks for the heads-up, guessed. I preordered a copy for my mom (an 83-year-old C.S.I. "junkie.")

Could this be a clearance to get ready for a new release? I recall reading somewhere that due to the current season sets being such a shit release (lack of extras and no chapter breaks in episodes) that they were going to do a proper release.

I think that's only for the first season, due to lack of WS and surround sound. But I may be wrong.

Could be, but you know how the studios are... if it sells well enough, they'll go for the series-long double dip.

Amazon had raised the price to $49.99 plus a $2.72 sourcing fee. I don't know how long it was at that price, but I do know that's what it was when I looked yesterday. The price is back down to $34.99 as of today.

I can't answer your question, because I'm not at home where my S1 set is, but I wanted to point out that DDD also lowered the price of S2 to $36. Not quite as low as Amazon, but I'm sure they'd match if asked. It would be nice if the price holds through the next DDD 20% off sale. In fact... yes, I just cancelled my Amazon order. I'm trying to severely cut my entertainment spending. I don't even know that I'll be able to place much of DDD order in November, but anything I can live without for now is getting pushed to the wishlist (I didn't even check the DVD section when I went to Costco, yesterday).

I thought there were plans to re-release S1 in Widescreen format. Whatever happened to that?

It was mentioned a few posts up, but I haven't seen any recent information about it, such as a release date or features list.
